I own a 96' fzj80... in what way is the 80 better than the 105 or vise versa.. (leaving motors aside) ? I live in canada.. so no idea mate. I wud love to buy a 105.
@epicgamer7855 ай бұрын
late reply but 105 axels and diffs are stronger, 105 has bigger brake booster. Only part of a 105 that is worse than an 80 is the gearbox, 105 was too heavy so they put a smaller box in, its fine for a stock engine if you treat it good but if you do any towing or increase power they don't last too long.

I moved to oz and got a fzj105.. love it!!.. but miss the elegant look of the 80 series!

Hi is your engine equiped with turbo?
@forevercruisin67154 жыл бұрын
yeah mate, after-market DTS turbo with upgraded internals in the engine to suit.

I have also same LC 105. But engine is normal. Can you advice how to make it turbo?
@peterkapellas83675 жыл бұрын
Hey bro nice rig man I like your set up although I like see a better pic of your switches near the gear stick just below
@forevercruisin67155 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pete! Sorry bud would have loved to show you, but i've sold the car. the switches are just cheap little ones you can get off ebay or supercheap etc.

Great rig mate! Although the 1hz is reliable do you think it would be less reliable adding a turbo? And what's your fuel economy like in this bus with all that extra weight?
@forevercruisin67155 жыл бұрын
Cheers! Sadly i've sold her, but loving my new 80 series! My 80 has 180,000km on the clock, and i won't be turboing it to keep the reliability A1, to many stories of blown up 1hz's. For the lap of Aus i averaged 14.5L/100km. which i thought was super good for the tires, lift, and loaded to the brim!

@@forevercruisin6715 I dunno where you keep finding these with 180k on them lol. I just bought a HZJ105 very similar to this, double ARB lockers, lift, heaps upgrades in suspension and underneath...but 400k kms on it lol. Believe it or not, that was the least ks I could find on one, the rest were half a million plus. Dunno whether to turbo it or not, I hear there's some low boost setups you can do without upgrading anything...but I'm suspicious lol EDIT: i just realised yours has 380k but rebuilt
@forevercruisin67154 жыл бұрын
@@blackie75 Yeah my 80 series hzj80 has 205k km now. This was what i replaced the hzj105 with. so found an older cruiser with heaps less km. lived in a garage most of its life. hit the jackpot. I don't like the idea of turboing it, the non-turbos always seem to go 500k km plus, where the turbo'd ones always have rebuilds!

@@forevercruisin6715 How did you manage 14.5L/100km?? I have the same model with no turbo and best i can hope for is 19L/100km, at worst 26L. Any ideas? Its running 35 inch wheels and a three inch lift. Surely the extra wheel size isnt worth 6L/100km?

What long range tank do you have on there? Have you had any issues hitting...whats the departure angle like?
@forevercruisin67155 жыл бұрын
It’s a brown Davis 175L sub tank that replaces the factory 45L. It tucks up at an angle higher than the towbar, so I’ve never had an issue with it hitting anything, even when the towbar had hit the ground/rocks.

Forever Cruisin . Ah sweet. I'm getting one in the next few weeks... My 105 drinks like anything need the extra fuel for long trips.

Wouldnt checking that fuse box when something has blown be a pain in ya bck side.
@forevercruisin67154 жыл бұрын
Yeah it would be, but when the wiring is all done well nothing should blow very often. I also knew which fuse what for what 12v accessory so if one did blow i'd know which to check. Luckily i never had a blown fuse though i will admit!
