Lots of good points. For me, I am a much more picky consumer now. I've started using comps with Card Ladder, and have no problem showing them to the dealer. (who actually don't mind and at local shows are unfamiliar with the technology) At the National, I have no problem saying there are 500 Koufax Rookies in the room, and this is what I'm willing to pay. Baseball Cards was the best magazine - the hobby misses those great stories, and I've kept them too.

Thank you for educating us. Please do a show on your opinion of graded and non graded cards. Graded card industry creates alot of questions.

Enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this topic. I'm with you as well. I never really look up a card at a show, but will use 130point if shopping for a "higher-end" card and my "higher-end" isn't that high LOL.

@@scootscollectibles Thanks Mike! I think just knowing my budget and what I’m willing to pay keeps me in line. The vintage market is pretty steady if you’re paying attention.

Interesting thoughts Keith. I think comps are more applicable to modern cards. Eye appeal means a lot more in vintage and especially lower grades.

@@Redneckclector Yeah I think Vintage overall is much easier to shop with the stable market. Modern market makes no sense to me.

Good perspective. As veteran collectors, we can see through the grey and limit it. It comes with time in and around the hobby, achieved over decades of dealing with dealers, collectors, pricing and trends. Common sense with wisdom…maybe it is making a return…? I doubt it…haha

I am more surprised in a good way, I think that the Beckett Monthly Magazines are still, in publication. I've bought some at my local Barnes and Noble. Not sure, what the future holds, however, for both the magazine...and the grading company. They had a good run. Even if Beckett, is a shell of itself. Though some of the modern basketball cards in Beckett slabs are competitive with, PSA and SGC. That could be one of the reasons they've been able to hang on by a thread.
@LonelyBasementBaseballCards10 күн бұрын
@@ACD1994 There still kicking Andrew, everyone keeps waiting for a buyout but I don’t see it. I have a Beckett slab, can get some deals occasionally if there slabbed by Beckett and you buy the card for the card.
