I Kind of had the same story but I was hurt which made me change sports. Freshman year I was the QB on JV but I fractured my lower back the first game, sophomore year I only played defense(OLB) I averaged 10 tackles a game. I was all county and 1 selection off All-State, junior year I transferred schools I was playing Both sides of the ball and the 3rd game I torn my meniscus, and senior year year I only played RB, I’m 6,5 so I was basically unstoppable but the 5th game I torn a thumb ligament that pull my thumb off my hand. I lost the 2 football scholarships I had so I decided to play basketball again I got all county,all league, Top 100 NY player in basketball so I decided to go Juco, I made the team the first year of college and then the second year I got cut cause I was “too small”. I decided to play football game I reached out to 2 college coaches at Wagner College and Long Island University and now I have 2 opportunities to play college football ✅ Football always been my calling and it feels great being back 💪🏾

Bruh imma vent I’m sorry but we are to similar who took different paths at about the same time. I respect your story, keep grinding and motivating. You remind me of myself so much it’s crazy, I’m just a bit older and if I’m right you probably going read this because we like to analyze things. I started off as a baseball player too and then picked up basketball and football which honestly is crazy for somebody like us and I’m sure you probably know it. My thing is I realized about 8th grade that I wasn’t tall enough to keep playing basketball so I just played baseball and football. We both are 5’9 and just like you I didn’t start off my sophomore year playing football but was around the team like I played. Probably just like me you may have thought you wasn’t ready for Varsity football in reality it was perfect for you and you knew you could help the team. My thing is once I went out to see if I could play football my sophomore year the coach didn’t ask the players which most knew I could play he told a friend and I that they didn’t need anymore running backs and cornerbacks which stunned me. This is when I should’ve known to transfer and get up outta there but it was my neighborhood school and financially we wasn’t set so I stayed. Mind you this is probably one of the worst high schools football teams in the city, they did win 4 city basketball championships in a row but not many recruits coming out of the school. This is when things go wrong for me So I played my junior year and senior year but with it being one of the worst schools in the city the Head coach didn’t care as much as my old coaches and I think it trickled down to me which is my fault. It might sound crazy but I was the fastest kid up until 9th grade junior high school. My thing is my whole high school years I probably worked out three times and never ran a 40 yard dash. How can you play running back and cornerback but never run a 40 just crazy. We never recorded our games and had a film session to help us improve so you could imagine the stuff I missed out on. I remember a coach telling me I had a college coach looking at me but with my head coach not really helping I let that slip. Then not having a father figure or someone who been through something similar I didn’t know what to look for or how to apply my skills. This was kind of my fault because I should’ve left the school but I didn’t really know better. I didn’t really find out about what a highlight tape was until my senior year but it was to late because the season was just about over. I was also working from 9th grade which took away from a lot I couldn’t work out on the weekends my team didn’t but I knew I could get stronger and better but I had to work every weekend. I know you a good teacher and listener so if you ask me I would tell a kid not to work or find a job that really works with you if not find a different way. I was making a little money to help out me and my fam which I thought I was cool but in reality I was stuck in a place I shouldn’t be relying on that job. I think I would’ve been better struggling for a little bit more to have a better opportunity to get a college scholarship or just finish college. My bad for the book but I wanted to give you a background story on me and if youtube was as big as it is now and I seen your videos it would have definitely impacted me in a good way. I say all this to say keep grinding, motivating and giving a good blueprint. I’m sure you helped a few and willing to help more. Keep replying to comments because some kids don’t have no one to help them out with stuff like this and don’t know what to look for. Don’t forget about us and the youth when you get big. Keep grinding my bad for the book again lol.

good stuff man you’re my inspiration, I live in a small town port chester New York, I work as hard as I can, I’m a freshman 5’10 150Ibs finished my jv season with 21 touchdowns, as like you playing football basketball and baseball. It’s like you’re an older me but you’re more successful, I’m scared of what the future holds because big schools won’t even look at small towns like port chester, if you could reach out to some coaches, that’d mean the world to me and my family. I have a Hudl account @Colin Taylor keep up the good work man 🙏🏾blessings. Stay safe

i just learned how to gain massive weight and muscle by watching strongmen and bodybuilders. Plan ahead when you work out and when you eat, i eat every two hours with meals at least 500 to 700 calories breakfast 7 o'clock snack or regular meal 10 o'clock lunch 12 o'clock workout 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock recovery drink or supplements and dinner at 4. all these meals need to be at least 700 calories. b4 my workout i would drink whey protein powder or after i would drink milk. dont stuff milk into your body every once and a while because it isn't good for your insides as you might pass gas. try to lay down and be as steal as possible because if you dont you are burning what you just ate especially if you have high metabolism. i was 147 to 155 during wrestling season playing defensive end in football but i was strong fast and built. now i am 175 planning to hit 180 this started back in February or march ever since this corona stuff. Please take my advice

So right about now I’m 6’1”, 190lbs, and I’m 15, I play varsity and I get quite a few tackles on special teams, (I just got varsity special teams this year), and I stand out more than my teammates. I’m just wanting to know the dead truth of what colleges look at, and what are my chances of getting into each division. I don’t have any problem putting on weight either. And in school I have a 3.5 gpa, and I’m one of the strongest kids in the school.

College football programs are attracted to size and speed! Having either one gives you an advantage. Keep your GPA high and continue to get stronger in the weight room. Since u have the size, the best thing to do is probably get your technique and skills down to a T

King Kolby Thanks bro! I’ll be working on technique for the starting varsity position I’m getting this upcoming season.

Nice Video. Do you remember what the minimum GPA you had to have was for Cornell? For instance, would a 3.5 GPA qualify?
@King_Kolby4 жыл бұрын
It was all weighted based on your GPA to ACT/SAT score. So it really depends, there is like 4 diff categories and if you have a high GPA with a medium score it could balance out or vice versa.

How big of a factor were test scores when being recruited as an athlete to an Ivy League school?
@King_Kolby4 жыл бұрын
They definitely play a major role!

Never understood why Middle School team never pass the ball and the ones that did won the Championships my team was good but it was really centered around one person and that's why we lost the team that won the championship in the Conference Finals

Question: first off, I want to apologize for seeing this video so late. I just recently found your channel and have fallen in love! I want to ask, I know this is not in your expertise, but I play soccer, and want to play in college. Would you recommend that I get a personal trainer?
@King_Kolby4 жыл бұрын
Yes! only if you are serious & you have to make sure that your personal trainer is is legit enough to know what they are doing
