My Grandfather wasn't exactly a brand loyal man, except for his Farmall tractors. That Scottsdale instantly reminded me of a triple blue suburban he had when I was a youngin. I rode many miles in that truck pulling a Scotty camper, and going to get feed and hay for the cows. When I saw that truck, I was flooded with memories from a time, and a man long gone. I can still remember what it smelled like now, thank you Bill for that trip down memory lane.

The '80 Chev is a nice find for your parents. Everything you feel that needs to be repaired, replaced or rebuilt (most notably possible seat upholstery and seat springs replacement), etc., should be about the least expensive pieces available as re-pops. Door panels can be painted with appropriate products and the dash can be repaired and refinished too if it too far gone. It sounds as though it will be the perfect truck for them.

THE CHINESE SNOWMAN, everytime you being that topic up I start to laugh. To bad you did not take footage of your dad walking to see the truck for the first time. The look on his face must have been priceless! Seeing that old CHEBY takes me back to many moons ago. Dad and myself restored an old farm truck for me to drive. Not very interested in the new iron. The old stuff was built with pride. It's amazing to see how the old stuff is still on the road today and the newer iron is all ready pensioned off after ten years rotting away. My Dad had 78 Scottsdale with a 355 041 heads headers TRW flat top pistons and a Lunati 00010 cam. That was my favorite truck of all the trucks he ever had..ur Dads truck is a beautiful truck brother..u just don't find them that clean and rust free anymore..👍

I always like my distributor straight. You can remove the vac advance and slot the screw holes and you can slide the advance to move the pole piece.

Jeremy's spark plugs were factory installed originals. The green print gives it away. Your replacements have blue writing. Even when we got replacements from the parts department when I was at the dealer were blue printing on the plug.
