"Love could make people stupid." What a doormat. If he loves you enough, he wouldn't do that. Clearly, your dad is just sorry because he is left with no one
@lynettephillip24122 ай бұрын
That is not being a doormat! Tit for tat is of the devil. She loves her father and they are trying to reconcile. Not one family is perfect! People genuinely make mistake! It has people who are truly manipulative!

Not really. I've seen people do this and worse. You'd be amazed at what family can do to each other over some money or power.

Trust is hard to rarn but easy to lose. Your dad chose his bed warmer over his blood therefore OP must respect her father's choice. The consequences are now solely on the father. OP must keep distance from the demonic trio .

To be fair it’s demonic duo. Dana seems like a good person and they have a really good relationship

OP if you see this it very commendable that you took in the child after her mother abandoned her. To the child if she sees this you did the right thing which in this day and age is very rare. Wish you both nothing but the best for the future.

@@TALLCAT6969listen to the last 2 updates. Dad apologized in person when OP and Dana came for Dana's stuff. And Stepmom terminated her parental rights to Dana, OP and dad both stepped up with dad doing so financially (he was in no mental condition to do anything else yet). I think they're headed for a reconciliation over time. Might take years, but the door is open now.

Nah dearie. You did right. Your dad doesn't realize you saved him and people dislike being saved and acknowledging that they GOOFED up very BADLY. He is projecting his feelings on you. But you did good. You are a good woman.

It is interesting to me that the only parental figures Dana has known are her mother and OP’s father. OP’s father is the better of the two, in the same way that skin cancer is better than pancreatic cancer. Both are bad, but one is VERY bad. And yet Dana seems to be growing into a young woman of character. She chose the right action, even knowing that when the dust settles, she’ll be living with the worse parent, and the less bad parent will leave. For an actual minor to make that choice, without ANY meaningful parent to model good behavior… damned impressive. Somebody needs to figure out how to get this kid a top-tier education, so she isn’t dependent on her mother. She deserves so much better.
