Soooooo no one reported Larry missing? Multiple people knew that they were together when he went missing. When he said "I didn't bother mentioning the cave or Larry." It's like.....wouldn't people be asking you what happened to him?

Good narration, but the story is riddled with plotholes from the very get-go. Given how traumatizing the experience was for the father as well as the retelling, why would he even START telling the story in the first place? (And why would he continue telling it and not come up with something else instead?) Wouldn't know if shirts (undoubtedly sweated from the hike) would catch fire, but if you are inside a cave so far deep in that you don't see a thing for a while already, you won't find any firewood in there, not to mention a branch thick enough to function as a splint, and if Larry's leg was twisted at a weird angle, you would need to set the bone first, anyway (and how would he be able to keep running from the darkness if he was only able to crawl?). And why give Larry the car keys in case he realized he forgot something, when you can just as comfortably hand them to him when and if he does realize that he did? And did I miss the part when the narrator recovered the keys from Larry? And why and how did Larry continue to walk inside the cave in the dark, without any light, anyway? I've been inside a cave or two without light, and there's not much fun in that, there is literally no point stumbling on if you can't see a thing. And the biggest problem - why not say that Larry went missing? They go hiking together, and then bam, the narrator comes back on his sole own, injured, no Larry - wouldn't police investigate Larry's disappearance and find the silence suspicious?

The narration WAS great. The story not so much. Right away when the story began, I picked up on the question of why would he tell that experience to his children for fun as a ghost story in the first place when it was a horrific experience for him? Then when the main character and his friend look in the cave he says something like the 3 of them would fit twice over into it. The 3 of them??? And the main character is a total piece of shit not telling anyone his friend was still in there! It also never said that he got the keys from his friend!

love the narrations, as good as they get but you're work is making up for very average at best stories. hopefully the standard goes back up soon, because I haven't seen much written in the last year at least that has come close to the 2016-19 level of writing.

@@mq9893 cool, I'll give them another shot. been a fan of creepypastas for years, but for me the standard has fallen dramatically. between lazy writing and plot holes to washy endings I've become exhausted waiting for a genuinely intriguing story worth investing my time in. obviously I get the odd one here and there that gives me hope, but I've been finding myself going back listening to pre pandemic classics more and more. thanks for the reply, appreciated.
@mq98932 жыл бұрын
@@roymunson1 I absolutely hear you about the plot holes. washy endings, and the subpar standard. Maybe it's just me, but the standards in society, overall, have dropped. So, the few fellas I've mentioned are lifelong writers, published (though I know that is not a quality guarantee haha) w/solid plots, character depth, longer series, real places creatively included, infamous tales/historical info deftly woven into intriguing fiction, and most enjoyably genuine literate talent for weaving tales. Story & Author recommendations: 1*Bayou Moon 2*Death rides the Red Jack LaFountain 1*Shadows Over Mobile Bay 2*Shadows On a Tin Star 3*Feline Factor: The Vampires Daughter Wayne Harbison 1*(The Dissapearences of) Deep Fork River Bottoms 2* Pond Creek Road 3* The Ape Men of Ape Canyon Edward "Ed" Smith 1* Boneless 2* Whiskey in the Jar 3* The Last Buffalo Hunt 4* Field Training in Aztlan Michael G. Lockhart My apologies, I got carried away. Someone did something similar for me when I was searching. There are several others I've enjoyed but I feel like these are solid-top tale weavers. I hope you get the enjoyment I've gotten w/these stories.

Why no mention of the keys being on his friend. This was also predictable. You need to pick better stories. These stories written by 14 year olds are no good.
@teresakirkland9952 жыл бұрын
If ya have any brain power at all anything you read, watch, or hear is predictable. The “keys” situation is a staple in most all means of scary horror stories. If this was dreamed up by a 14 year old then I can’t wait til they’re grown and publish novels!! Jeez. Lighten up :)) Or better yet maybe you could write one eh?

Sorry about the appletree story doc. Personally, theres plenty of that in the real world, so when i want to go escape i dont want to listen to an epic serail about sado-masochistic sex predators. The first one was ok-ish to me, but like Dexter, or walking dead, or game of thrones, it got old fast. Stories like that seem uninspired to me because there is just so much of that everywhere you look. Of course, ive never found sex predators interesting, so maybe thats why i can't get into it 🤷♂️
