I love journaling and have just hit around the year two mark for it and it's so helpful! I also use voice memos on my phone to work through the thoughts that come faster than my hand can write, and it feels like I am doing a therapy session, but no one is listening which at some moments is very pleasing.

I really like one line journals because I'm excited to see how the same day looks from different various years (I started in 2023). It's interesting to see cuz I can feel I had a different focus that day, or different job. Sometimes I write down what happened (boring documentation of where I went who I talked to), but then there are entries where I focus on how I feel. It's interesting to see.

I wrote down her name. She didn’t give it to me, I heard it said in line. I traced the lines. I colored in the circles, I tried every pen, different inks, different paper. I felt my hand cramp over time. I asked her how her day was, I spoke for her in rhyme. She would say, “I’m fine, I’m okay, isnt it such a nice day?” I made up her voice, I created her mind, I wrote down her name every time. I remembered her face, I drew her smile and hair. I doodled her big and small and every where. She was my muse for the words that I wrote. The sound of her name was lodged in my throat. My fingers were the only way she could live, I gave her a life with the strokes of my pen. She is dead to me now, time has gone by, but I will never forget you, Magpie.

Thank you so much for this video! I've been journaling for years, but I just got a new journal and before I start a new one I like to watch videos on how other people journal to see if I can incorporate some of their techniques to improve the benefit that I get from journaling. I usually only journal in the evenings, so I love that you do it in the mornings and evenings, and I do drink coffee, so I'm going to try habit stacking and start writing in the mornings too. Congratulations on your sobriety, I know that is a hard thing to overcome and I'm incredibly proud of you!

I used to journal everyday for about a year as I was in a very toxic relationship and I was logging everything down wether it was good bad but I noticed cause I was writing everyday it made my mind so much clearer then when I stopped my mind has just been so busy and overwhelming at times I’m now starting to journal everyday again.

I started journaling a couple of years ago. I dont have a "routine" but i do have 2 that i use: 5yr & all purpose. I use fountain pens which is what really got me into journaling regularly (wanted an excuse to use my pens loll and i have turned into a paper snob lol. I use one 300-400pg notebook for around 8-12mos so i go ahead and spend 20-30 bucks on them to tryly enjoy the experience.

I got into journaling a few weeks ago and everything was going well, I had consistency and was also experiencing the mental and emotional benefits of doing it. But then something came up and I had to stall a few days. This kinda broke my rhythm of journaling and now I'm trying to get back into it. Your video has motivated me and excited me to look forward to journaling again. Thank you so much. Love and light ❤🌺.

I struggle with Journaling or free writing cause my brain doesn't see it as important enough as somthing like studying, so my brain says I'm not allowed to waste a good Journaling book on my thoughts cause I'm not gonna use that in my future as I would studying books (it's the same with reading books, I can't read any books besides one's I can learn from like history books or art books)

Hi! I've recently got into journaling and i am loving it! I am wondering if I should "outsource" some stuff into different journals.. currently I throw everything into one journal: brain dump, anxiety/solution, stream of consciousness, drawing and collages on trips, movies books blablabla.. I am just not sure..idk if there is an actual "answer" to this ig it's just personal preference.. any tips and ideas are welcome though😅
@avghst
@avghst Жыл бұрын
you should just try and see if it works! it really just comes to personal preference and what's convenient for you. for example, i tried using several notebooks instead of one, but i always end up just writing everything in one and forget that i have other notebooks. but some people keep several notebooks at a time and it works better for them. so just give it a try and if it doesn't work, you can always go back to a single journal
