I feel the need to pass on my mother‘s favorite saying because it has served me well for the past 59 years. ‘Don’t believe ANYTHING you hear and only half of what you see.’ Because of technology, I need to add that seeing means live, in person. Pictures, videos and words on a screen can all be manipulated so it doesn’t count as seeing. Matter of fact, nobody should believe anything on the internet/social media or even over the phone, especially texting. That cute and sweet 20yr old college girl with the long, wavy hair that loves to fish and watch football is probably a 58yr old man and he’s a recruiter whose job it is to lure young men and convince them to meet in person so his thugs can snatch them and turn them over to someone like Diddy. Oh - and that gorgeous guy that’s super shy and amazingly doesn’t have a gf is only single because he’s too afraid to talk to girls. But hey, you’re breaking him out of his shell and it will be perfect when y’all finally meet. It’ll be wonderful for the depraved men overseas whom you’ll soon meet because you were really talking to an expert sex trafficker and you and 10 or 20 other young ladies will be lucky to survive a month. People hide on the internet and can create any identity they choose, so please remember that and TRUST NO ONE!!!

I could never allow my 15-year-old child to spend the night away from home without checking and confirming first as much as I may love and trust her. Kaley's mom trusted her and she wasn't honest with her probably because she knew mom would not have allowed her to meet let alone stay overnight with that disgusting POS! The sentences were not long enough for what they did. I really hope the film they made will save other children from this kind of predatory behaviour. Poor Kaley and poor poor mum.

I don't understand why a 15 year old girl would have anything to do with that creepy-looking little toad who was messaging her. People, when you are going to meet someone for the first time, meet them in a PUBLIC PLACE like a cafe, during the DAYTIME, for the first few dates and do not accept a lift from them to get home. Don't even tell them where you live until you know them well. NEVER go back to theirs. There are too many weirdos in this world. Keep yourself safe. Do not become another statistic.

Always teach your children never to keep secrets from an early age from parents because one day this sort of thing will happen, the problem here was the poor girl was naive and lonely and looking for attention regardless what kind and unfortunately she paid the price. If lessons can be learnt from this tragedy then the poor girl has sacrificed her life for those vunerable girls in the future.😢

This is why we don’t realise that just because we are able to contact as many people on line that we need to,just like for example there are bakeries up and down the country, but we don’t feel the need to go to the bakery everyday and just to add we wouldn’t eat something from said bakery if we didn’t know or trust how or what was used to produce it. A simple suggestion I realise, but you don’t need to have hundreds or thousands of people on platforms to meet people, you really don’t, they are total strangers. Keep it simple stupid, ie kiss is a good way to move through your life without dipping into a black hole of nothing you know about, no matter what is typed onto a screen. It’s unfortunate.
