I heard this song so long ago as a child. It was released in 1998, I was born in 94. Id hear it on the radio as we drove along. I’d get goosebumps looking out the window of our van at the night sky you could almost feel the presence. You could look out and almost see him in your mind’s eye in the clouds as the sun sets and darkness takes hold. Beautiful voice from such a talented man. Rest easy Rich. Hope to see you one day.

Though the album is attributed to Rich Mullins and a ragamuffin band, this is actually Rick Elias singing. The song was written shortly before Rich Mullins died and he never had a chance to do a studio recording of it. There are demo recordings for the songs, so it is known how Rich Mullins imagined the song to sound. He actually wrote an entire album worth of songs. A group of Christian artists (including Rick Elias and Michael W. Smith) came together to record this last group of songs he had written and released the album, "Jesus Record." If you purchase the album, it comes on two discs, one contains the versions sung by the artists and the other is of the demo recordings Rich Mullins did while writing the songs. While I love how they recorded this, it's bittersweet, and I always wonder how it would have sounded had he recorded it.

What a great and powerful song that honors My Deliverer, the Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior. The Lord Jesus saved me from so many sins that to list them all it would take up approximately several paragraphs. My family also, a few years ago was told by the hospital staff that I would probably not live over night, all from a ruptured appendix, then I went into septic shock and many other problems occurred from that. But the hospital staff did not know the God Almighty nor believe in, trust and love. Well after some 9 surgeries later and being in the hospital 6 months, I am still here because of the grace of God.

Listening in 2020...things are kinda scary. Things are off. Something has changed, you can almost feel it in the air. Possibe sickness awaits on the gas pumps. A man was killed in the streets while cell phones watched. He was called for his long passed mother, he couldn't breath. Our leaders are failing us. Come quickly Lord Jesus.

One man died because he couldn't breath because he overdosed on a dangerous opiate to keep from being charged with it as a possession, and that filled his lungs with fluid. The truth is always the first to be ignored, which is the beginning of the end for any nation. George Floyd killed himself with the drugs he had been killing others with for years. He is another example of these last days, the falling away into anti-God behavior in every quarter. He was both the criminal and the victim-of himself, far away from God.

Mullins is singing at the feet of Jesus. Imagine how wonderful that must be. To express your love of Him to His face. To sing His praises forever more! I sing to Jesus everyday. I can't wait till I can look at His face too. I can feel Him here and I see His works, but my soul longs to be with Him forever. Someday after I walk my journey here...
