Story 2 makes me so sad because there's really parents who just don't take their childs feelings serious. They gave a clear reason for why they didn't want their mum tutoring the bully and outlined the consequences if she went through with it and she did it anyway. Then when she gets the consequences of her actions and punishes the son? OP is going to go no contact when they grow up and the mum will still probably wonder why. Horrible parents.

It you ever become a step parent, NEVER EVER try to intentionally become a replacement parent! It does not matter if the bio parent is a POS or just didn't want to be apart of the kid(s) life/lives, let them decide what role they perceive you as. This story is a perfect example of why you don't do that (I also think it's equally as sh!tty when the bio parent tries to force their kids to refer to their new spouse as a parental figure)

Story 3: so the kid was groomed by a predatory woman twice his age, sexually assaulted while he was drunk and then bribed with gifts and money while said grown woman continued to sexually abuse him… and the parents want to punish him instead of supporting him and getting him help to process what happened to him? Also, as for the uncle, he wants to blame his nephew instead of his predator wife? Disgusting. Poor kid. If it had been a 17 year old daughter and her uncle the whole family would rightfully be screaming for his head. SIL deserves the blame and hatred, not the teenage boy she preyed on.

Story 1 - It sounds like OP’s stepmother has some serious trauma about her abortion that was never properly addressed. It’s typically recommended to get grief therapy when you find out you are infertile to mourn what could have been. His should be done for every person especially if they decide to adopt or have a surrogate after because they will put that grief on the new child.

1st Story: Step-monster is borderline insane. OP has good people to help protect her and that baby, so hopefully the psycho won't do anything stupid. 2nd Story: If this had been me as a teen and my parents punished me this way because of a bully, I would probably have gone public with the whole thing and let them face the fallout. No apology would sway me, and I would probably just cut contact after having the financial stability to move out. 3rd Story: Heard this on RSlash's channel. Nothing new on this front, but it wouldn't surprise me if OP's son was groomed. Still, both the son and his aunt are definitely going to lose a lot of friends and family after that kind of fiasco, even if the son was groomed, unfortunately. Such a shame.

That last story's parents and uncle need to see this situation for what it really is. She initiated intimacy with a minor and was paying him an allowance, probably to groom him with money and who knows what else before that. Story 1: OP mentioned an "alleged mechanical car failure". I'm beginning to think that it was no accident, and that someone specific (read: Step-mother) might have deliberately tampered with the car in order to get her out of the way and use OP's brother's mourning as an excuse to try and forcibly take custody of OP's niece... If anyone knows if there's been an update regarding that specific detail, I'd appreciate it if they could tell me. It's so creepy to think ahe would go to such psychotic lengths just for "motherhood"

It’s honestly angering that 3rd OP’s husband and brother are so angry at her son and the brother wants to beat him up when it’s clear he was a child who was literally groomed and assaulted. If the genders were reversed, everyone would want to beat up the creepy uncle who victimized and roped his underage niece. Very disappointing but not surprising.
