Is it like the dress uniforms save them from being masted or reduce their consequences? I can't imagine if someone is already in for a mast that just having them will help them. Just seems like a waste of space in a rack tray. Edit: for a submarine crew, just about all the things that were listed either took up too much space, were not allowed onboard, or a mixture of both. Got to say, when I was going out, I had enough space to fit the sea bag, my FRVs, about 10 day's worth of underwear and socks, and the shower and bathroom *essentials*. From there the other half of the bed pan was for the guy I shared the rack with. Not even the boot locker was real. It just hid a ventilation pipe and was just there to give off the illusion that we had more space.
