I had antibiotics and PPI in December last year for one week. Everything eventually calmed down but in July all the symptoms came back and a further test was negative for H Pylori. I’m still having awful digestive issues, chest pains and severe constipation. I also have had Ibs and have been very stressed lately so I’m trying to struggle through. The Dr. gave me PPIs again which I reluctantly took but stopped them early as they gave me very bad headaches and I think triggered the constipation. I’m trying to be careful with diet and eat healthily but have zero appetite. I will try some of the things you suggested. I cant understand why the re-test was negative but symptoms exactly as before. I only had a two minute phone call with the Dr. and he just offered the prescription straight away.

@@wendypurcell2162 I’m sorry to hear you’ve got those symptoms. The digestive system takes a while to repair after the eradication treatment. This far down the line I would avoid ppi, trial having a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in 30ml warm water before your meals for a few days. It sounds like the ppi have suppressed your stomach acid, which we need to be strong to break down foods. Chew your foods until apple sauce consistency and have lots of fibre foods like kiwi fruit, chia seeds soaked in water, apples, vegetables & soft foods. I have ginger in warm water first thing to get motility going. I also have a cup of tea mid morning as the caffeine helps to move the digestive system. You could also try having 4 hourly gaps inbetween each meal to allow stomach acid to rebuild before you eat again. Something I’ve tried that’s really helped is a supplement called gastrazyme, which is definitely helping the heal any damage caused by h pylori. I’m only taking one or two pots of this as it has vitamin A which can be toxic in high doses. I hope this helps! An updated video is coming this weekend. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on :)

@@wendypurcell2162 also it’s worth mentioning that our digestive system is attached to the central nervous system, so if you are stressed this will have an impact on your motility and cause symptoms. I actually mention this in the upcoming video so check that out if you want to. I hope you feel more relaxed and better internally soon 🙂

I was prescribed 3 antibiotics and 1 ppi. It didn't work. Then I was prescribed another 2 antibiotics, 1 ppi and pepto-bismol. I'm still not sure it worked. H. Pylori is a tricky bacteria because it has grown a looot of resistance to antibiotics over the years.

@@anitalatina try adding in a teaspoon of kimchi each day which may help to reduce the bacteria. It might also be worth working with a functional medicine doctor to help kill off the bacteria with herbs 🤍

@@shelleywakeling thank you! I would love to. My financial situation at the moment won't allow it, but yeah, I'm also the type that would skip the antibiotics if I could. Luckily, besides feeling tired and down, they haven't really affected me much and I was able to eat and have a healthy routine anyway. It's just frustrating if they don't work. I'm glad you didn't need to do this line of treatment!

@@anitalatina I had quite a severe flare up so I took antibiotics for a week. I had amoxicillin & metradonizole and it was tough but seemed to do the trick! I saw a naturopath after the eradication treatment who helped with healing & foods that help keep things working well x

Thanks for creating this video. It is helpful. Do you know whether the ppi was necessary following the antibiotics. I had not been told to stay on it, so I just came off all medication two days ago. I’m not sure if I should have taken it longer.

@@nicholamayer4299 you’re welcome! From doing a lot of my own research on ppi, they can be helpful short term but I found that taken longer term can may cause issues such as nutritional deficiencies amongst other health issues. I took ppi for 3 weeks in total, during eradication week and weaned off them for the two weeks after. Then I stopped taking them. I will do a video on my experience with ppi because I’ve healed without taking them long term even though I was prompted to continue taking them longer term, and I’m glad didn’t. I hope this helps 🙂

Thank you that is helpful. Do you think it was useful for you to be on them a couple of weeks after your treatment in the short term? I was wondering about taking them for another couple of weeks. I came off the antibiotics yesterday but I’m still feeling sick and tummy upset. It’s really nice to hear about your healing experience. You don’t get so much info from the doctors !

How many antibiotics did u take and after u completed ur course, what supplements did u take?
@shelleywakeling Жыл бұрын
Hi, I took two lots of antibiotics for a week. Amoxicillin was 4 tablets per day and metradonizole was 2 tablets per day. I couldn’t take supplements for a few weeks after finishing the antibiotics because my stomach was too sensitive. I took a supplement called ‘Permeability select’ around 2 months after finishing the antibiotics. I took those for about 3 months. They do contain vitamin A which can be toxic for the liver if taken for too long. Cups of cooled boiled decaf green tea with a teaspoon of Manuka honey a few times each day helped soothe my stomach a lot!
