Hey brother I have an 06 Pacifica and the resistance between the pos and neg terminals on the primary fuel pump is reading 1.5 ohms. I saw that the new pump you checked had upwards of 17 ohms resistance. I've googled the resistance requirements of the Pacifica, naturally nothing specific, but some blogs were discussing that 1.2-1.8 is plenty and a stationary non energized pumps ohm reading doesn't really matter anyway. Personally I don't believe this at all, being that it's resistance is a huge factor in it being energized initially regardless. Anyway, do you think 1.5 is a little low on a primary pump? I do...I think my pump is going bad. Unfortunately this is a saddle tank and it has two...so I would love to get it right the first time ya know? Any help or a test down of the pump circuits on the primary would be appreciated. It's a 6 pin harness, two pins share a hot leg and one pin is ground of course so technically it's an 8 wire 6 pin system if that makes sense...if it doesn't just ignore that lol.

Also, my float actually decreases in resistance as I lift it and it only shows a reading around 3/4 lift and up. Weird imo.

@@A_Stereotypical_Heretic Hey how are you Lignum 🤓 My best advice is it may be a little extra effort and time / money but if you dont use f.p. then neatly package it and return it as you got it. Go buy the correct f.p. from auto parts store then run your tests on it like i demo-ed in my vid then compare to the old one., Now if your car already has over 100k miles on it and approx 10yrs old and you are having a fuel delivery problem then I would replace it, but check fuel pressure and fuel volume before you condemn the f.p. and / or replace it. Hope this helped🙂

Additionally, if you are not sure then go to a yelp.com 4/5 star auto repair business and have a tech diagnose it prior to doing any fuel pump replacements, check fuel pressure and volume, and make sure wiring looks clean , is clean and no damage to the wiring or connector, plse update me once you know. Yes, a very high / low ohms reading on the f.p. pos and neg pins is a problem, idk the specs for your chrysler, sorry about that😬

@@hmarmobiletech8332 well it's my old current pump that is testing at 1.5. I haven't purchased a new one yet but from what I've read and looked into the primary pump is the most notorious and likely culprit. The issue is that the vehicle is treating a 1/4 tank of gas as empty. And I know you're familiar with how these saddle tanks work so I'm assuming I'm getting gas sent to my injectors from one side of the tank only. As far as I understand the primary (drivers side) pump is the one that does most of the legwork as far as transferring, creating a siphon vacuum, and sending to the injector rail, and the secondary just helps keep the transfer of fuel moving from one side to the other. I've tested all of my connections, and ran down the harness, all seems well. The supply to my pumps might be a hair low at 11.75 volts but that was tested prior to me putting the battery on a charge. Other than that the pump at 1.5 ohms is the only issue I'm seeing other than a finicky float. Honestly, it could just be the float not registering correctly. Regardless, I have the tank down so I might as well replace the whole assembly. It has 280,000 miles on it. Thanks for your time brother.
