Hi Ruby. We're going in February and was planning to stay at Caesar's. Now, not so sure. I'd still like to though. I hear the Augustus Tower is the best.
@kathilee73892 жыл бұрын
Never again. We stayed there in April. Booked a king room in the Forum. They kindly upgraded us to a suite (2,000+sf). Two levels, incredible view, two master suites. Definitely needed remodeling. Shower leaked constantly. The freakiest thing is the SAME guy came into our suite twice! Didn’t go to the suite that was dark and unused but to the one we were using. The hubs was in the shower. I asked the guy what he was doing. He hesitated a bit and said they gave him the room. The dude had shorts, white tank, and a small duffel bag. I yelled for the hubs and the guy took off. Called the front desk and they said that our suite was registered in my name and there is no way it would have been reassigned. It was freaky. We could not wait to check out. And will never go back. Love your vids Ruby! We watched all of them before coming to Vegas! And still watch them. Thank you for all the helpful info!!

I stayed in 3 different rooms/suites in about a year. The suites were nice but with awful views. The one king room had a great view and the room was ok. There was one time I was there and the there was a bad smell. I agree the property is huge and so much fun. I do not think the dining is as good as the Venetian/Palazzo (Delmonico is probably one of my favorite restaurants on Earth). I went to Hell's Kitchen because of the people I was there with, and I did not understand the huge appeal. Mr. Chow was amazing. Sushi Roku is also nice if you get the strip view.

Nope not worth it. I stay mainly at the Wynn or Venetian. I'll do an MGM property if the comps are good and also Treasure Island/El Cortez when they offer good comps because that's where I play. But Ceasar's nope. Won't stay there or play there. It never feels like good value.

I agree with your comments 💯 We used to stay exclusively at CET properties and were almost always happy. It seems like most of their hotels have gone downhill since the pandemic. The two times we stayed at Caesars, we were in the Augustus Laurel Collection rooms and there were many issues with the light dimmer switches covered in grime and the exterior shell of the bathtub caved in along with a lot of visible general wear and tear (as you documented). I gave up and switched entirely to MLife properties as the value just isn’t there anymore.

Caesar's choice to charge extra for the pool after already charging resort fees is a good example of what is taking place nowadays across the country: the creation of a class system to glorify those who want to be seen as super rich. The result is that the rest of us who thought we already paid good money feel like peasants in an overcrowded pool. Not a good business model, imho.

I went to the Grand Opening of the Venetian and instantly knew that hotel would be my new home in Las Vegas. One of the things I loved about Caesars in its early years was Cafe Roma. Before that, the Noshorium. The food was incredible and both restaurants were open 24/7. Now there is no 24/7 restaurant at Caesars. Imagine, a resort that is known globally with no place to go eat a meal after a night of gambling. Caesars thinks they are saving money? They have run-off the clientele who made them famous. I love the Grand Lux Cafes in both the Venetian and the Palazzo. Whatever you order will be as good as it was served when they opened in 2000.

The water was filthy and disgusting; we were so creeped out we left soon after arriving. Thank Goodness they opened the pool door that is close to the Octavius Tower; last year they made you hike ALL the way over to the door by the Palace Tower to get into the pools. I've been to Vegas many times on business and stayed at a number of hotels on the strip, and Caesars is my least favorite. It's too spread out so the walking is daunting, the rooms are beat, and everything is super expensive there. Also they are known for having tight slots. Your review was spot on, and you weren't being nitpicky about the upkeep of the room. I stayed at Ceasars in June with a large group of colleagues who were in Vegas for a conference, also held at Ceasars. We arrived early and were informed about the early check-in fee, but each person was quoted a different amount ($35, $45, $60), depending on which reception clerk they spoke to. (Paying the fee didn't result in any upgrades.) That made the early check-in fee feel like a scam. A few in our group checked in early; the rest waited until after 4:00 p.m. When trying to complete check-in after 4:00 p.m, the express kiosks malfunctioned, and the available clerk became snippy when asked basic questions. So the overall "welcome" to the hotel wasn't smooth or hospitable. I stayed in the Forum Tower. The room had a lot of scuffs, scratches, and signs of wear and tear --- not what you would expect from a luxury hotel. I would choose to stay somewhere else if I were planning my own trip to Vegas.

I didn’t realize this till I got home. -the wedding was nice but don’t expect them to be on it. Everything they do is very last minute regardless of the amount of money you’re paying. -some rooms are hit or miss depending on what tower you’re in -their WiFi/service sucks -some pools are hot and some are freezing -you can’t really use your mini fridge at all or you’ll be charged a fee The rooms are really nice and spacious so if you’re concerned about that then I would definitely stay there. There is an executive chef restaurant that sells the 'soup of the day' for $80 a bowl. They wait for the next table of suckers to walk in. I had been a regular customer since 1971. I was known by employees all over the hotel who are all class acts. I say enough of the pretense. It was great meeting you and Mr. Ruby, hope to see you guys in Vegas again one day!

Caesars properties in general have gone downhill with the latest ownership group. I still like the rooms at Planet Hollywood, the Miracle Miles shops and the casino at Paris, and that’s it. Cleanliness at Caesars in general is terrible, overflowing ashtrays at slot machines, sewer smells, low staffing/poor customer service, all very disappointing. I’m not saying MGM Resorts is perfect, but every time I’m at Bellagio or Park MGM, the rooms and casinos are clean and the workers I encounter are very nice.

Yep, spot on! I stayed there for the first time at the end of October. It started out bad- a two hour wait to get a room (including the 30 plus minutes I stood in line to use their digital check in.) The room was a total letdown. Every bit of wood furniture was noticeably dinged up, the lampshade looked like someone had taken it off and thrown it at some point. And… carpet stains. Ick. We also went to Gordon Ramsays pub and had an all-round terrible experience. I’m still shocked because I had gone a couple months earlier and had a GREAT experience. The casino is massive, which is pretty nice but the floor is pretty confusing to navigate. I won’t stay there again, even in a comped room. The only Caesar’s property I like STAYING in is Paris.

El Dorado company now owns Caesars. That's all you need to know. A once great property now owned by a "slum landlord", in our opinion. That's why in our opinion you are already seeing the rooms not being properly maintained.

It’s not just Cesar’s. Other hotels are starting to charge for certain areas of the pool like MGM. There’s a middle island that the lazy river goes around that costs extra to sit there. Also discovered some restaurants are adding gratuity to the bills disguised as a fee to the bill. All these fees are getting out of hand.

We stayed in this exact type of room for our honeymoon in December and I was so disappointed. I dont know if you turned on the bathtub but as soon as we did the tub filled with black sediment. I just came home today from Caesars Palace and stayed in this same room (6179 Octavius). I was "Upgraded" to this and was told this was the best I could get without paying $150+ a night. (Surprising because I am Diamond Elite and on Track for 7S) We had the exact same issues. The smell in the hall was horrendous and the room was outdated and beat up. Our main door had a huge crack in it and was falling apart, our sinks and showers took hours to drain, (We were standing in 2-3 inches of water while showering) Stains on the couch, rug and tile (Huge spill stain on Tile), lights and Window Sill were dusty. Although the bath is nice, it took close to an hour to fill up due to poor water pressure. Overall the best thing about the room was the Square Footage and View, but really disappointed as this was my first stay here and I have been wanting to stay here for years. Really makes me consider MGM, Wynn, Venetian for future Vegas Trips.

I have been a Caesars Rewards Diamond member for many years, and am very loyal to them, since they comp me very well, but I was never a fan of Caesars Palace. It's a beautiful property, with a beautiful pool complex and the Forum Shops are very cool, but the property is just way too big. Depending on which Tower you stay in, your walk to your room from the Strip could take 20 minutes. Who needs that, especially in the hot months in Vegas? I prefer the smaller, cozier hotels that Caesars offers in Vegas, like Planet Hollywood, Paris, Cromwell, Flamingo or Harrah's. Just much easier to get around, you are on the Strip very quickly, and plenty of less expensive food options as well. Caesars Palace is lacking the cheaper food choices. That's just my opinion. I enjoy walking around there , just when I'm visiting the different casinos, and exploring the Strip, but to actually stay there for a week? Not convenient, and not practical at all

I have stayed at Caesars before and was completely underwhelmed. Our room was so far from the casino I had to rent a scooter to get around. The room was one of the worst I had experienced on the strip. While it was complimentary I think I would have rather paid for a room elsewhere. The casino was dirty and not fun. I used to stay at Venetian and Palazzo, much more luxurious and their casinos are way better. Even Paris is way better.

Glad it's not just me! Was super disappointed in our stay, it took an hour to check in and almost the same on check out. Our room was nice however there was no housekeeping unless you called for it, which we did and yet our room still wasn't cleaned. There were dirty dishes left in the hallways and a disgusting dirty qtip which was left in the hallway for over 24 hours! We'd just stayed at the Cosmo which was absolutely faultless which I think made this experience so much worse. I won't stay again.

I totally agree about the room and would mention the wear and tear on an opinion card and nicely when you check out. Even snaps pics to show check out and send pics to manager when you get home. You could get some comps on your next trip, make sure and say Cesars is the only place you stay!! This also makes the manager aware the room isn’t up to par which surprisingly unless customers don’t point out with photos she/he might be unaware how bad the room looks. Loved your video.

Good review, I've stayed here many times. Things I like: the mall, huge rooms, bathroom and jetted tub, great food court and buffet, excellent casino. Things I don't like: slow drink service at pool/no lifeguards, long walk to elevators, only 2 devices for wifi. This hotel has a lot to offer and It sounds silly but the wifi is a deal breaker for me. If you don't have a US data plan or have multiple devices 2 devices per room is not enough. They offer unlimited devices included in the resort fee for all mgm hotels. If you have more than 2 people per room, you have to pay an arm and a leg for wifi, this is ridiculous
@JustJenRx2 жыл бұрын
And the best way to combat those ridiculous pool fees, keep them chairs empty! If people ain’t buying them, they’ll see and hopefully drop prices!!! In my logic anyway!

Definitely agree its gone downhill. Stayed there a few months ago, room was in poor shape and could hear everything from next door. Wi-Fi was garbage, and they refused to refund resort fees until I argued with a manager and threatened to file a chargeback. The only redeeming feature would be the main pool, but it looks like even thats closed off now. Absolutely no reason to stay there anymore, with Aria, Cosmo, Venetian/Palazzo, and sometimes even Wynn/Encore providing comparable rates.

I thought the decor was antiquated. There were no charging stations in the lamps and the lamps did not work. The complex is very confusing and easy to get lost. Food prices were very high, IMO. OMG I stayed at Caesars in June and had a similar experience!! I stayed in the same tower, identical room to yours... the giant floor lamp in the room was broken! As in... the whole top of it fell off! I had to call maintenance first thing I did when checking in. Room was in similar condition. You also didn't mention that Caesars charges a $100 per night incidentals charge! More than any other Caesars resort. Everything there costs more, and a lot of these are recent changes! I'm a video poker player, and this year they raised the minimums on all their machines to dollar denomination. You can't find a 25 or 50 cent denom poker machine... IF YOU CAN FIND VIDEO POKER AT ALL. I hated my casino experience there. (I also had a bad experience at that Gordon Ramsay Pub. They overcooked my prime rib. I don't go to any of his restaurants anymore.) I will say... as a Diamond member, I called and they brought a mini fridge to the room for free. They said it was free because I was Diamond. (Of course *most* hotels will deliver a free mini fridge if you say you have medication that needs refrigeration.) I will say the customer service at Caesars was excellent all around... but the rooms and the all around experience (and all that WALKING just to find your room) are not worth the excessive cost.

Just went to Vegas for the first time since the pandemic and will never go to Vegas again. The homeless situation is horrific. I felt very unsafe even during the day. Lots of homeless with mental illness as well and begging, picking garbage and passed out on the stairs of the CVS just horrible. We stayed at Planet Hollywood for 4 days and had our room cleaned only once and had to pay the $50 resort fee per day. Homeless also wander in the casinos and looking for money left in machines and wander around until they kicked out but not enough security anyway to keep under control. Bye Vegas it was nice knowing you 😢

As a child my family went to Las Vegas a lot in the early 70’s. I remember it as very clean and very safe at all time of the day or night. I always go to your vlogs/reviews for all things Vegas. Been to Caesars something like 5 times in past 18 months or so. I think you're spot on with the review. Where I would differ just a bit: First timers. Knowing that the room price point is "silly"...it's all about what CP will offer a first timer. The pool deal. We went in March and we were able to get spots by a pool area that wasn't an ice bucket. Yes, that main pool with the tower thingy is COLD. It sits in shade too much and the water is circulated through all the fountain sprays. So why do I disagree with you? Because if you want a "one-stop" location for strip location, sports, tables, slots, pools, food, shops (the greatest experience of high end shops), it's a great location for first timers that would get overwhelmed walking the strip trying to find those things elsewhere. Me? Been there and done it too many times. So I wonder if your experience is what mine is now? Ho-Hum, been there, and there's better value elsewhere. Yes Caesars is not a value proposition. But if you want to hit the best nightclub in Vegas and never have to leave the property to hit great pools, and all the other stuff...it's a one of a kind. Lastly, Paris is my choice for a great spot if you just want to be close to things, and you don't need massive pool options, and nightclubbing is now called grab a drink at 11pm and hit the bed. Stay and Play at Paris a few times, and then CP will make you offers to stay there at much better rates.

We were at Caesar's a few years ago and I had two main complaints: First, the casino is so huge its easy to get lost in and HARD TO FIND A BATHROOM, which I desperately needed after a couple of cocktails I indulged in while gambling. Secondly, it really felt geared towards an older clientele. If we're paying those prices we want high end, modern and contemporary. All in all, my rules for Vegas are this: Stay in the mid level hotels Gamble in the lower tier hotels Eat dinner and see shows at the upscale hotels.

My trip earlier this year I did 2 nights at Mirage then 2 nights at Caesar's my first time staying at both properties. Loved Mirage. Caesar's was fine. I paid for late check out at Mirage so I was packing up to head off to Caesar's when I received an Email from them asking my ETA I said 3pm and at 2:45 I got another one that said my room was ready. I had the same opinion about the Venetian when I stayed there not that long ago. The bathroom was amazing, the bed was really nice, but everything in the living room area felt warn out, particularly the couch. Because of the time of the year and the fact that we went during the week, the room was a little less than $200 after all of the taxes and fees, and we did not stay in the room that much, so we didn't mind the shabby sofa, but it would have been nice to have furniture that was placed in the room a little more recently than a decade ago.

Stayed at Caesars Palace once and it was enough for us. We had a comp Palace room and it was beautiful. Had a great view of the pool just like you did. My wife and I won $1,000 within minutes of each other in the casino. Those were the good points. The bad points are yes the hallway on the way to the Palace Tower smells like straight sewage. Every restaurant is extremely expensive. They did not have the reservation rule for the pool when we went so that has to be new. And like you said, the property is huge. I felt like it took us a half an hour to get anywhere in the place and even from our room to the strip. Just a massive property that feels like they don't want you to leave anywhere else. It was an okay experience for us but I like the proximity of everything in Paris and Planet Hollywood. Great video!

Room looks very dirty and old to me. Thanks for showing us.

Nice and informative video/ The background music was amazing; I believe most of it was Smokey Robinson?

I stayed in a similar room in the same tower and my room was perfect. I have stayed many times at Caesars and they have never disappointed. I also ate at Hells Kitchen and had the best beef Wellington.

I’ve been going to Caesars for 20 years and you are absolutely right! The last few years we went for the pool! Sad to hear the pools are reserved.

Has anyone ever tried to dispute the resort fee on their final bill by saying the room was $200+ and the pool was empty?

We stayed here last summer and we hated it. Sad because we always thought aww omg Cesar’s is like one of the best. I had a better stay and room at Ballys and Paris 😅

Great vid as always. Caesar's has never been worth the price point in my opinion. It's an iconic and beautiful property but not worth the money.

we were there a few weeks ago and had a comped room exactly like yours. Same tower, same layout, same view. It was beautiful. I didn't notice a smell, my grandson loved the tub. The only complaint was the pool situation. It was very hot, and too many people at the pools that were open to everyone.
