My disappointment with Launch X431 Pro Elite - why does nothing work for PSA vehicles?

I bought this so that I could carry out configurations, pcm updates etc on newer PSA ECUs. With diagbox you can now only do online coding with a connection to the diagbox network.
Launch pro elite lists so many functions I was excited to buy it. Unfortunately none of them really work and we don't have the option to do dealer level software updates either.

You cannot do nox work on bench. Scantool needs to see other modules of nox system before it can do reset. Don't blame the tool

@@briankotze57 look at my follow up video, same setup with diagbox, can do all the configuration stuff. I've also done adblue reset and dpf reset on bench setup with diagbox, that's in another of my videos too. I get where you're coming from, it wants to be able to communicate with those modules, however most of the time there isn't a separate adblue module it's actually combined in the ECU but that depends on the model. I suppose on models where there's specifically an adblue module it will of course be impossible to reset without that module present.

PSA is basically gone to shit after 2018 , they cant even give proper tech support and they dont know how to reprogram/configure their transmission modules on the landtrek pickup which is a chinese changang brand .

My experience, unless your willing to pay £5000 and upwards these cheaper units are very limited

The reason your struggling is because the elite is not a European or Uk device So they do not run the same software we have on Uk devices Launch Europe/ UK do not sell on amazon or eBay these units are Chinese imports or counterfeit devices

@@tonyrice3348 Topdon buys 3rd hand software They use the same as Thinkcar Everyone uses version of launch software But a lot can be said with using a genuine unit over copies or 3rd hand software devices

Hi Steve. I uses autel 908 pro 2 which allows me to do everything your trying to do there. Never liked launch

autel is hi priced and i mean hi hi priced. it is like snapon, too much for the small shop owner. Well you should use the online support from launch. they have a engineer online that can help you. I fix mercedes and bmw all day with launch and am here in germany. i see gutman and bosch scanners and j2534 kits screw up right and left and my launch x431 pro3 apex was only 1000 euro and has topology and the full extra box full of older obd connectors so i can work on old mercedes with round plugs under hood like a boss.

I also have problems my launch IMMO elite BMW E90 read cas3+ but read wrong isn from DME and Mercedes Benz also can not connect to eis no communication,VW also no support saw says supported but not very disappointed

Hey Steve, I have this issue with the md1cs003 I have the thinktool euro master 2 and you can't change any parameters. I was told the only way you can is with diagbox and the online tokens?? I can't verify this as I've not tried yet. I've also just brought an otofix ultra. Next time I see one I will try the otofix as this is an autel machine

@@locksmithsandcarprofession2428 it's strange because there's loads of videos on KZbin saying it's the best tool ever, can only assume they are sponsored by Launch or just trying to earn some affiliate commission. Maybe I'll buy each major tool and review them, I have this strange feeling that they are all identical running the same android software, same hardware, same options all with different branding. I'm hoping I'm wrong but that does seem to be the case for Launch, Autel, Topdon based on the Amazon adverts from the official brand stores they are all the same.
