Forgive my ignorance , but how do you refuel the fire ? I mean , if i´m doing a large brisket that takes 12 plus hours , it looks like I´ll have to remove everything inside 3-4 times to add more wood , or am I missing something ? I forgot to add that I smoke with oak , not much else is available where I live.
@BBBarbecueandPitsАй бұрын
@@vtheb666 so with this cooker you actually fill the charcoal basket up with charcoal and use wood chunks for your smoke. If you do that you won’t need to access the fire anymore for the cook. The nice part is that it’s more of a hot and fast smoker. If you are running 275-300 in the drum, that brisket won’t take you 12 hours and the end product will be the same. In contests we cook a brisket in about 5 hours and it’s the most tender meat you will ever eat.

Yeah but I feel like the one you build would ultimately be nicer and you have to factor in the life of the grill. Store bought stuff usually falls apart faster than something you build. Which barrel? The Bronco? Or the offset smoker?

The bronco drum isn't one piece. And from china

What brand of paint do you use for the lid? And what do you use to clear coat the body with? Im building this in the UK so has to be weather proof
@BBBarbecueandPits9 ай бұрын
So the black paint on top was Rustoleum high temp black. And the clear coat on the drum was Rustoleum high temp clear coat. Got both off of Amazon

@@BBBarbecueandPits do you clear coat the inside
@BBBarbecueandPits8 ай бұрын

Can you send the link to the kit you used?

Do you paint inside the barrel to thanks
@BBBarbecueandPits Жыл бұрын
Noooo don’t do that. That would’t be safe for the food you are cooking. I take the inside down to bare metal then when it’s time to cook I spray the inside walls with Pam spray to seal the metal

Awesome Freaking Smoker!!!! I'm about to start mine tomorrow. Question...how far to the left and right of the rear center line did you mark your intake center?
@BBBarbecueandPits Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I got the center point on the front of the drum then measured 10” to the left and 10” to the right off of that center mark. Good luck on your build bud let me know if you have any questions
