She’s lovely. I have a two year old male GSP, and have had a GSP and GWP in the past. They are wonderful dogs. As I’m sure you have discovered, the key to their happiness is to give them LOTS of exercise. Mine have all run on rocket fuel, and need to burn off all of that energy. A tired dog is a happy dog. Best wishes.

Got my gsp on a road trip and didn’t have a kennel to train him in so I let him sleep in bed with me in bed. Two years later he can’t sleep unless he’s in bed, under the covers and it still doesn’t bother me one bit. He’s just part of mine and my wife’s bed now.

this funny, i have a 6 month gsp/border collie mix rescue …she looks more gsp, acts like one, she stalks her toys too and doesn’t like her harness. she’ll only endure if she gets to play fetch! you have a beautiful dog.
@tundrathegsp2 жыл бұрын
What an awesome mix 💗 yes, I think the GSP character runs strong in their genes. So great you got a rescue, we tried before getting Tundra but didn’t have the best of luck. Young GSP’s (GSP in general) are hard to come by at the shelters. Which is a good thing. 🥰
@Kate987552 жыл бұрын
@@tundrathegsp I’d been watching their site multiple times daily, they update every few minutes…when she and her sister popped up we quickly went to the shelter. Her sister was already adopted but hadn’t left, our shelter has some glass walls on the meet and greet rooms…I could see two groups pacing outside waiting for us to pass on her. I’d watched the site for months, never saw a gsp. She was a darling puppy, but this girl gets cuter and cuter. I’ve been researching to get to understand the breed, have had labs and golden retrievers mostly….she’s different already from their personalities. I could believe when she went on point to her toy. I encourage her to “watch it” which puts her on point, and then I say closer, and she creeps towatds it, whoa slows her down and then i sa wait she stands right over it staring at it on point…then get it and she grabs it, all innate behavior I’m capturing. So far it’s been fun to be around a new breed. I thought my goldens had energy, this dog needs to put into a crwte for a nap, she won’t stop moving. I knew these dogs had energy to burn, but amazing to see it. Sorry for such a long response, I am excited to learn about this breed and really liked just seeing your dog.
@tundrathegsp2 жыл бұрын
@@Kate98755 I enjoyed reading your rescue story 🥰 I love how they get cuter and cuter as they age. When Tundra was small I thought she couldn’t get and cuter but she’s turning into a beautiful young lady. We’ve never tried “watch it” or “whoa”- that would be interesting for her to learn those two. I’ll research some YT videos on how to do it. Tundra also has to be put in a crate for a nap or else she won’t settle down! And if she doesn’t get a good nap she gets very grumpy and vocal. Thank you for sharing Nancy. Talking about my pup is like talking about my child and I enjoy hearing other pet parents stories as well.

Yes, we are learning as we go that Tundra picks up good/bad habits very quickly. We try to encourage the good ones and discourage the bad ones as soon as we see it. Tundra is becoming a bit more independent luckily but she is starting to counter surf + dig in the garden!! If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Lol.

@@tundrathegsp remember the perfect is also the enemy of the good Your dog will learn bad habits regardless, and giving him attention even if irs sayin "no" can result in him doing something naughty for attention. Its gotta be hell on him being left alone, people are his stress relief
