Hello,
In this episode of My Dolls House Diary, I’m making a start on the living room. I add wallpaper to one wall and the chimney breast and make a couple more doors, one for the living room and one for the bedroom. I also give an update of where what’s still to be done - it’s a lot! I really hope you’ll enjoy this episode.

Another great tutorial Julie. I've lost impetus on my kitchen and so it's been a while since I've done any work on my dollshouse but looking at yours I think I'll follow you and decorate all the other rooms to see if it helps me get over this slump. Your advice as always is much appreciated.

I love your technique. The dollhouses I have done I only primed the walls with a liquid primer and over the years that has deteriorated and bled through my paper, especially the wiring tape. As I work at my job through the day and watch your lovely videos I dream of redoing my dollhouses with your techniques. I like the idea that you are considering for the fireplace crossbar (I think you called it) instead of a mantel. Don't believe I have seen that before. I agree adding a door to the room makes it look so realistic and cozy. I dislike dust in my miniatures I bought a miniature wand attachments for my life size canister vacuum that work well for cleaning small areas. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

I’m in the US and got a giant roll of great quality lining paper off Amazon. I just searched “wall lining paper” and it was $18, and it paints really nice! Happy dollhousing friends! 😊

I just ordered some today. Have been trying to make due using different types of paper I have on hand, but never satisfied. I hope mine is as good as yours. I really want to paint 2 rooms!

@@chrisscinta1973 I hope it works for you as well! I followed Julie’s tutorials on how to use it and I didn’t even need to use the blow dryer as it was thick paper and didn’t wrinkle. And my walls were awful underneath. Good luck!

So glad I watched this, just getting ready to do some wallpapering tomorrow. I was pondering which glue to use, that question is now answered! Also, will have to try using a hair dryer on any wrinkles that show up. The house is looking great, the kitchen especially shows your attention to the smallest details! I'm sure that will be echoed in all the rooms when finished. Addendum: I did use the Gorilla wood glue, worked out great. Only a very few wrinkles, but the hair dryer worked like a charm in flattening them out, thanks for the great tips!

Those doors look beautiful. In my dolls house the doors are beige plastic, so I have left them because they might not paint well. I will have to buy some handles though. Love the colours you are choosing for the living room , it will look nice and cosy. Thank you for the great videos.

Hi Julie, I adore your tutorials! You questioned if it was better to paste the wall or paste the wallpaper, my husband is a painter decorator (So of course working on the real sized thing rather than in miniature) But he has a preference for pasting the paper. Some wallpapers will say to paste the paper, some say to paste the wall. It doesn't really make much of a difference, the only real tricky part is how some papers are much thicker and sturdier and some become almost like toilet paper once they get wet.
