I read Dracula as a teen and I loved it, one of my favorite classic novels of all time! Thank you for sharing your collection, I've been hunting for the perfect edition and fell in love with the pale blue one you showed us, so I ordered it! Thank you for the suggestion!

Great collection! I was planning to get a copy of Dracula but unsure which version to buy. After watching your video, I decided to grab the penguin leatherbound classic version (the last one).

Dracula is also one of my favorite novels, just because I love scary stories. Being that you have so many editions and seem to be infatuated by the novel, you should _really_ buy the Easton Press deluxe limited edition. It is bound in real leather, is oversized, has illustrations, is bound with extremely good quality with very thick end boards, marble endpapers, and comes in a cloth bound slipcase lined on the inside with velvet or a velvet-like material. It has a very hefty price tag, but can be paid for in chunks and is very much worth it to any fan of Dracula. They ship to the UK too I think.

I have not fancied the Easton Press illustrations. It doesn't have a classic feel to the it. Folio Society is superior in my opinion. I really don't understand why Barnes and Nobles won't release an illustrated edition of the Dracula. There's plenty of great illustrators out there. I am really hoping and waiting that they would release a good illustrated collectable edition that goes in my shelf. The premium ones by Folio Society and Easton Press are just absurdly too expensive. I can't say it's not worth the price though. Sigh...
@connorpusey5912

C C 9 It definitely is worth the price. You don’t realize how good the quality is until you actually hold it in your hands and see it with your own eyes. Feels and looks very luxurious.

For someone who doesn’t read often, which edition would you recommend?
@connorpusey5912
@connorpusey5912 Жыл бұрын
@@minhee7 You can find cheaper editions if you don’t want to fork out the money for the Easton Press one. Folio Society makes a beautiful edition that is a lot cheaper, still a little expensive though. But it’s illustrations are even better than the Easton Press edition. Barnes and Noble make an even cheaper copy but it’s not as well made.

11:46 I've been looking for an illustrated Dracula I read when I was a kid. I'm not _sure_ this is it, but it could be, so thanks for showing it off! I'll try to get my hands on a copy to read, to confirm it. Edit (9 months later): I was finally able to check, and I'm sorry to say that it isn't the right book 😔 Back to the old drawing board… Wish me luck. Edit: I've since learned that the plot of the book I read was probably based on the Hamilton Deane stageplay, or one of the movies adapted from the play (such as the Bela Lugosi one). Unfortunately this information has not yet helped me find it…

Can you please share the publisher info for the two Thick YA Dracula novels between 5:20 and 7:00? If it’s revised the same way they make the Bible easier for modern reading than I would like to gift them to my younger sister. The first Dracula novel I read was a revision by Rosalie Kershaw, but after rereading the original many times I found it still kept the soul and terror without the extra grammar.

Oh my god ... how funny ... you seem to be as crazy as I am. I share your obsession with Dracula books (also films etc.) with you. Funny to see that there isn't at least one book we have in common. (For sure) because I'm a German and most of my Dracula books are German ones. Several years ago I visited a 'mystical store' in San Francisco and there I found a very beautiful illustrated one which I hunted for ages ... You are my hero of the day sweetheart :*

So I started watching Dracula on Netflix and I love it. I just watched the 1992 movie again and I was wondering if Bram Stokers Dracula is the original Dracula Story that the movie and show are based on. It seems as they are. I am about to purchase the Dracula (Faux Leather Edition) online. I'm Aussie too, Central Coast.

I recently re-read both dracula the un-dead and dracul. Dracula the un-dead is really bad after reading again. I did like it first read. But you asked about dracul. I actually liked dracul, it's much more well written. It can't be compared to dracula honestly, but as a stand alone horror it's good. I honestly don't think Dacre stoker needed to connect it to the dracula universe to make the book good or interesting.

Nice collection! There are affordable alternatives of the text too; 'Dracula: The Definitive Author's Cut' re-worked by Stoker in 1901 to make it faster-paced (also included is 'Dracula's Guest', the omitted 1st chapter of the 1897 book), try eBay. Also 'Powers of Darkness: the Lost Version of Dracula', is the English text of the Icelandic translation (orig. 1901). Turns out to be a very different version actually set in Iceland! By Bram Stoker/Valdimar Asmundsson. Annotated & more, came out this year. Good book.

With all these versions I'd have thought you'd have gone for ones from Easton press or folio society both, at the moment, have Deluxe versions of them out with interesting art work. Or go for the original first edition of the book. Admittedly they're all a bit expensive.

It has very thick end boards, gilded page ends, marble endpapers, and illustrations. It’s also oversized and comes in a cloth-bound slipcase with velvet lining the inside. It’s expensive, but can be financed and is worth it if you love beautiful books and the novel itself.

Fat Dracula; the non copyrighted new idea for a supernatural fanfiction of a hero bent on saving the world, saving the occasional person from demons, and stopping calamities from happening to the Earth. With a tendency to use others' energies to fight an ongoing battle, the energy returns to the individuals in the end of battles, leaving them like vampires. This idea needs your imagination; you decide as yourselves what you want the comic to look like, and give it your own style, with no intentions on copyright it's going to be interesting to see how people see the world of the supernatural fanfiction which is Fat Dracula. Best of wishes for the ones who think they've got the makings of greatness at their fingertips, with just a whim and good skills with their art. May the best version make history.
