@6:36 Whenever you find a swarm of bees contact a local bee keeper. They are wonderful human beings generally and will be happy to help rescue the swarm. Very often they will find the Queen and get her and the swarm established in a hive to relocate. It would make great video content for you too.

Turaco birds live in flocks of up to 12 individuals in the wild. They are shy and prefer to remain hidden. They tends to form monogamous breeding pairs. During courtship, the male will feed the female. They build their nest together and the parents take turns sitting on the eggs. Once the eggs have hatched, other flock members help the new mother care for the chicks. Chicks can fly at 4 weeks of age. They may leave the nest at 6 weeks of age

The problem is stated in you're first sentence "in the wild". Yes Blake could have googled information but once again his bird's aren't wild. Most surveys are completed with wild subjects that will have completely different behaviours so if Blake reads up and notices his captive birds are displaying different behaviours he might think there is something wrong and intervene therefore letting the mum and dad work it out is the best solution in my opinion 😊

i never weigh my young birds an old parrot breeder told me the less you touch the young, the better the parents will raise it. He only checked on the young when he has to ring them. He would figure out that they are breeding because he didnt see one of the parrents and then after some time he would hear the young calling for food. 5 days after that he would ring them and thats the only time he disturbs the birds with great breeding succes

@@Ultimate_bullyz905 Old wives' tale, birds don't use scent to ID offspring, so don't reject chicks with human scent. It's basically something humans tell there children, so they leave chicks (fledgling) alone. Although constent nest disturbance can make birds abandon chicks.

I was told that as well but I went about it the complete opposite. I spent a lot of time with my breeders and helped hand fed in the nest. I got birds that were tame with me but also knew they were a bird.

Wow, I didn’t expect it to be covered with downy fuzz already. Better make sure it doesn’t fall into the pond and drown when it fledges. Maybe next time let them raise their babies in the lockout to lessen the chance of any accidents… remember that first clutch of ducklings.

Blake easiest way to keep an eye on the babies growth is put up a trail camera in the tree next to the nest. That way you can keep an eye on the babies growth 24 -7. Plus it's for safety you can keep an eye on it that way no other birds are able to harm them.

Did you know those birds live in groups of 10 in the wild. And it's mom who sits on the nest and the dad feeds her and protects the nest from predators.

If you take the chick to raise, then yes weigh it for development record. If you're leaving it with the parents, let it be, if it's growing it's doing fine, after all there is only one chick to raise. Keep disturbing the nest for weighing will more likely result in nest abandonment. If you want to see the chick often, set up a small camera linked to your phone.
