Wow! Those fees are outrageous. I’m glad that they made you aware of how much the fees would be before completing the transaction. That would have been a shocker to get hit with those fees upon receiving the bag 😳😱 I hope you can find your dream Chanel bag soon without the extra hassle! 🙏🏽❤️

It would’ve been horrible to have bought it and then been slammed with the customs fees upon delivery. With the slow economy preloved prices seem to be coming down so don’t give up hope on finding your dream 19! 💚💚💚

Sorry for that experience Flo! You have to see the positive: at least VC lists the customs and duties beforehand. Imagine they would have sent the bag and then the postman would ring and ask for that money 🤯🙈 (it once happend to me years ago, when VC did not already list the extra costs. But in that case it was a fault from VC aswell, cause the website said the item would be in France, but then in came from China. The postman asked for duties at my door 😱it was not that much, because I only paid a few hundred for the item to begin with, so I paid it. In the end VC refunded the money to me, cause it was their fault, listing it as „located in France“, when it wasn’t. Now I always use the „Europe“ filter, to not even get tempted by any items with these high extra costs.

Loving your cadrdigan mama! What an absolute bummer! I had a similar experience with Vestiaire, which is why o steer clear. There fees are extortionate, it’s all the more disappointing for you because I know you’ve had wonderful experiences with Vestiaire a load of times. I didn’t realize you weren’t near a Chanel boutique. Does the 800 number not provide stock info In the UK? I hate missing out once I’ve made up my mind. It’s a shame I don’t live anywhere near a Chanel or LV store (just as well really as I don’t want to go bankrupt!) 😂 I just googled the numbers of the individual stores in London and at the time, they didn’t have the pastel yellow I liked and couldn’t tell me when they would be expecting delivery. They asked me to just keep checking which I really didn’t have the time to do. But I suspect these Seasonal colours will come on the preloved market soon enough so I just need to bide my time. At least I’ve learnt from this experience not to bother with listings from foreign sellers! For now, I will just pause and reflect on what I have and enjoy my bags. I’m yet to receive my mini Peekaboo back from the repairs clinic so that’s something to look forward to! It really is too bad you weren't able to buy this bag, but the import duties are ridiculous!! I LOVE the Chanel 19, and I recently tried it out in person at a boutique. It's so beautiful!! I would go for the medium size, but it's now around $6300!! Yikes!! 😲😲

its a good thing you decided not to go with it anymore as that import tax is just too much. I paid £300 plus for a small Chanel mini trendy chain bag which is smaller than a WOC when i bought it from Fashionphile. I just had to pay cos i didn't know how much it was going to be until it arrived at my door. Never again though i do not regret ibuying the bag as i love the bag but never again😀

Omg! I’ve always anticipated a 15% tax onto my VC purchases to be safe. I would have never anticipated 20%. The exchange rate that VC offers is also really poor. So although a buyer’s offer may be reasonable, the seller is getting a much worse off deal.

a lot of places include customs charges but at a reduction rate as they have an agreement with the customs office...but ves*tiar* seem to have got very greedy since brexit.....i really dont believe they would not be able to offer a lower customs charges fee but they choose to skim the full money off unwitting buyers......
