Love Hotels - you go in there for 4-6 hours just to do the deed. You can stay overnight but it's way more expensive than say a business hotel because of the prices.

Another subplot touched on in this episode is Marin's insecurities that she doesn't suite cute looks due to her physical features. I like how as the show progressed from Gojo starting out in awe of the _idea_ of Marin - seeing her and her world as perfect with her seemingly 100% confident about everything with no insecurities or flaws - to him slowly discovering through her that you can be confident in yourself even when you have flaws and insecurities. With Gojo growing to appreciate Marin for who she is as a person, instead of simply his idealised, imagined version of her. In that sense, in addition to the whole "breaking gender norms and stereotypes" theme, another major theme of the series is that everyone - no matter how seemingly perfect or put together they are - often have insecurities and things they struggle with; and it is how we deal with them (e.g. Gojo allowed it to rule his life, the sisters not talk about it with one another, etc) that matters. On a side note.... anyone else who would totally read the succubus manga if it was real? 😁😁

The manga version of the love hotel scene had shock value but the anime version moved it up several notches. Like from 0 - 100 really quick 😄 I fondly call that scene THE HARDENING 😅 The following arcs are back to cuteness so the author knows how to mix up solid romcom with spiciness.

i think the difference of a love hotel to a regular hotel is you can stay there for just 1 hour or longer. Just like PC cafe's. 😆 as for the condom myth, atleast in my country having a condom in your wallet is considered a "lucky charm" because you know.. in case of emergency.. both you and your partner can be "safe". But they usually tell this myth to teens. 🤣

Love Hotels or No-Tell Motels are considerably cheaper because of the time that you check out. Normal hotels would give you a day (2 PM check in and 12PM check out the next day) while Love Hotels would usually give you 6-8 hours as people would usually go in at 12AM and leave at 6/7AM after they done the deed and showered. Different love hotels have different policies but this is what I know.

I needed a good 30 minutes to think over what i had just seen. Also the last scene in the episode is more detailed in the manga cause Gojo is basically repeating what he did when she sent him the picture in the swim suit.

From my understanding of what love hotels are (never been to one so can't be 100% certain), aside from the amenities thing mentioned, some of their appeals are their supposed discretion (with society at large also generally turning a blind eye and pretend not to notice you going in there or knowing why you're going in there even though it is blindingly obvious what's going on) and that they typically charge in terms of hours as opposed to a traditional hotel which would charge for the entire day (another term for love hotels are "short-stay hotels"). As such, even if it might work out cheaper per hour (once you math it out) to stay at a regular hotel, they don't typically need it for the entire duration. Instead, it would work out cheaper to pay for however long time period they need at the short-stay hotel it for instead of booking for the full 24 hours at a regular one.

I know this gets lost for the last scene but this episode low key shows gojos character growth. I mean he’s always been detail oriented but look how he takes charge in what photos he wants to create. Showing him going from a passive hanger on to Marin to an active participant in it. It’s something rom coms kind of fail to do a lot, giving the romantic interest something to bond over other than tragic backstories

For a few years that Love hotels now offer service for non-couple guests, like this case to rent out as a studio, or for a Joshi-kai (girl's meet) which they will allow guests to bring-in foods and drinks. So while it sounds weird that Marin misunderstood the hotel as a studio, but those hotels will pop-up when searching for a studio. But yes, normally people rent those rooms for amatuer sexual-related shoots though...

Not that I’ve ever been to one, but from general knowledge, it seems that one appeal of love hotels is that they can have themed rooms. Like, this one was all white and pristine looking, but you could have a vampire themed room, a cutesy room with stuffed animals, etc. The hotel exteriors can be varied also… I know of two love hotels near my neighborhood; one looks like a small fantasy castle, and the other looks very discrete or nondescript.

I think my favorite part about their relationship after this point, is that both parties are 110% silently aware of their mutual feelings. Marin is happy to just let things play out, and Gojo still has a lot of internal stuff to work out, including his confidence. No amount of internal memory editorializing is going to rationalize that painstaking, breathless eternity where they just stared at each other. Marin *HAD* to know about Gojo's *ahem* extended 'warranty'. It's literally pressing against her the entire time. Gojo's initial terror is that he KNOWS she has to know, because he can obviously also feel it, and when he waits in shock for her to react in disgust or fear or to get herself away from him, she decidedly *doesn't* I'm sure Gojo, even though he's at least partially aware of it, will completely dismiss any chance of it becoming reality. 'Even if she does like me, I'd be no good for her' etc. And Marin, for her part, is happy to just let things play out naturally. She's in no great rush.

If there is a second season - which I hope - it probably won't be for a few years because the show has caught up with the manga once the 12th episode airs. Also, that last scene with Gojo hitting his head, he was hitting another part of his body with the other hand. Wasn't trying to be gross but you looked confused by that last scene.

It hasn't caught up with the manga. The anime will probably end with chapter 39 and there's 73 chapters out currently. After the current arc in the manga ends (in probably 3-4 months) there will be enough for a similarly paced season 2.
