I have watched probably over 100 of these Marion's Kitchen videos now and I have never seen one single recipe that I haven't wanted to eat. Really good dishes, consistently, excellent presentation, filming, audio, etc. Top channel!

Looks Delicious. I've been making so many of your recipes and loving them. Just a quick question. I froze some dumplings for steaming and just wandering can I steam from frozen and if so how long? or should i defrost first. Thanks. Love your channel!!
@Marionskitchen5 жыл бұрын
Awesome! So glad you've been enjoying my recipes :-) And you can always cook dumplings from frozen. Just boil or steam until soft in the centre (timing depends on size and filling). I always just open one up and check when I think they're done.

@Marion's Kitchen I really enjoy watching your KZbin presentations looking for recipes that appeal to me and that are within my reach, living out here in the sticks where ethnic stores (and ethnic restaurants) are a day's drive away. First world problems, right? Anyways, as a general question, ingredient names in Australia are often different than here in Canada or other countries. So there can be a lot of confusion when you refer to using "red chillis", pepper flakes, etc. There's lots and lots of red chili peppers out there, lots of different kinds of pepper flakes, etc. Could you at least be a bit specific on what a red chilli is where you live, the pepper flakes you use, etc. Here, a red pepper would be a bell pepper or (if we're lucky) once in a while a Thai bird's eye pepper. Occasionally peppers that are red in color also show up. We get jalapeno, serrano, sometimes plobano, etc. But... "red"... not much of a variety other than a bell pepper or sometimes Thai bird's eye. And then there's red pepper powder... cayenne? The stuff across the border in the US they throw in chili? Help? If we know a name better than red chilli pepper, red chilli powder, pepper flakes, etc, we can try to get the best substitute from what's available when attempting your recipes. Anyways, whether you have the time to respond or not, thanks so much for taking on the challenge of doing the show. Food is a universal language.

Can you tell the minced pork is on the lean side?
@LemLTay5 жыл бұрын
It's really quite hard to tell fat content of minced (ground) meat if it's already minced up and packaged. If you're concerned about keeping it low fat and you happen to have a friendly butcher, you can try picking out a cut of less-expensive but leaner meat and asking for it to be minced for you.

How do you make up a table spoon of stock.
@LemLTay5 жыл бұрын
Good question, you had me thinking through a few scenarios. If I happen to have home-made stock, I might just have some small portions frozen, but that isn't always realistic. So, I'd sub with a small carton or tin of ready-made stock, and I'd treat myself to some soup afterwards so as not to waste the rest. Dumplings floating in soup would be great for another day, just to ring the changes. Or at a pinch, I might resort to using a good quality stock concentrate liquid, diluted with water according to the bottle instructions.
