Business sellers already have platforms like eBay and Amazon that cater to their needs, with tools and features tailored for bulk listings, shipping integrations, and higher visibility (if they pay for it). For them to now demand a similar structure on Vinted feels like an encroachment on what’s essentially a haven for private sellers. If Vinted starts prioritizing business sellers, it risks becoming just another eBay clone, losing its unique appeal and driving away its core user base-casual sellers and buyers. Private sellers are what keep Vinted authentic and personal, and shifting the focus to businesses would alienate the very community that made the platform popular in the first place

Exactly how I did my stocktake recently..only difference was I had my Mrs saying 4 item's in box F and me thinking there's at least 12 things in that box ffs. 😂This continued throughout my 30 boxes and had over 60 items that weren't listed!! I need to look at myself and improve .😂😂

I buy a bit on vinted and always sort by newest listing first on whatever category im looking at, which i just assumed most people did. So I see both pro and non pro listings equally

It's madness. I didn't change over, as I didn't trust the process. From what I've witnessed, new sign ups rarely run smoothly. So I wait and watch. They don't want us businesses on there. So they are making it less desirable maybe. I'm personally hating all the changes going on. Here's hoping Ebay are making the platform more fair. I'm too jaded to believe it until I see it.

@BLK2000 Yeah. It is weird. But it looks that way. The creators of the site have always said that it is for people selling their personal stuff. Makes me think they do not like resellers.

From a legal perspective - and yes I am a lawyer - consumers have the right to know whether or not they are buying from a business. Business sellers have additional legal obligations which they owe to consumers. These obligations are not without precedent. I understand that Vinted want to identify which sellers are actually operating businesses. This is the condensed plain English explanation especially for you Ricky.

Only thing I’ve sold on vinted so far after starting online selling end of last year is a pair of puma trainers as I didn’t want them vero’d 🤣. Wasn’t a fan of it

I deleted over 90 items from my Pro account last night, keeping it live just not listing anything on it. Opened a fresh new account as a private seller. Only downfall, I lose all my reviews.

I think people are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Most people arrange price low to high, if you are a penny cheaper than the private seller, you appear above them. Realistically, how many of the exact same item will be the exact same price? 3? 5? Even if you are the same price, you will still be on the same page as the private sellers, not way down the search listings. Maybe there are exceptions where hundreds of the same thing are the same price, but you wouldn't have bought those to resell anyway.

If eBay had in their terms and conditions that if you are a business account, your items will be suppressed and non-business accounts will be given priority… would you still be saying the same? No, you wouldn’t. I would imagine if you are an eBay seller. I don’t know personally if you are or not. Because it’s Vinted, which has a reputation for being cheap and car boot like (which I understand and completely capitalise on) people think it’s okay and not to worry about It really is not okay

@@RickyResells No no, I agree it is scummy in principle. On paper, they can tell private sellers that they are promoted over pro sellers, but effectively, it doesn't really make any significant difference. I don't sell on vinted, so it doesn't affect me at the moment. I would be wary of vinted changing things in future though.

Speaking as a buyer - I’m much more likely to check the shop of someone on Vinted as it’s rare that it costs more to get multiple items posted to me. Very rare I check a shop on eBay but almost always do when buying something on Vinted.

I understand your frustration Ricky but you was making sales before you knew about the terms and after and if you didn't see JS video you would have been no wiser? Just thought this must be a major issue if you have previously listed said unlisted items and they’ve dropped off as you bag all or most of the listed stuff so not only do you now have to rephoto abd list it all and sku it all again you also have to unwrap everything and rewrap it all 🤦🏻‍♂️ I don’t sku (stupid I know and a nightmare) but I also don’t pre wrap for this reason) I can see the pros as they’re ready to post but when times like this happen seems more chaotic mate

Vinted have always been for none buisness sellers its there whole stick on there and is why they banned buisness sellers for selling on there when they first started . they promote there for eveyday sell a item once a month over businesses sellers its how they have advertised themselves since they started . Now holding your money isnt great and they should sort it out alot quicker but as the private over buisness seller thats there whole thing so shouldnt be a suprise

Ebay have been clever they have evened it out for themselves with private and business sellers but not for the private sellers a £10 item sold for a business sellers 12.5 % fees = £1.25 private eBay get 75p +4% buyers protection = £ 1.15 problem for the private seller this is added to the item so it's not £10 it's now £ 11.15 business sellers item will look better for the buyers now and lower cost items even worse for private sellers stick to eBay ricky mate

Just have to reduce prices by 4% + 75p and you should be where you are now, its sneaky of them though. I mean its still free to sell they just got the buyer to pay the seller fee. The biggest error of judgement from ebay was ever making it free.
