You can buy a nice coffee cup that won’t tip over if you lay it on the floor, Stanley makes a great one for not tipping over, I use it in my kayak all the time. The Stanley tough to tip admirals mug, check it out, love mine. The cup is so stable I don’t lay it on the floor, I lay it on the deck. In case the boat tips over ,I just clip the handle to the bungee with a rod leash.

How's the boat holding up after 5 years? I have a line on a GR8 deal on 2 Eddylines, a 16ft Nighthawk and a 14' Equinox loaded with gear. The guy is giving them away just about. But I have to drive 4-5 hrs to get them.

Couple of simple suggestions to solve your problems: 1) Coffee cup holder...go to Walmart and look for a round plastic container of some sort just large enough to set your coffee cup in and stick it to the floor just in front of the seat with a couple of strips of adhesive velcro. I'd stick the female velcro to the floor and the male velcro to the bottom of the container. If your coffee cup has a handle just cut a slot in the side of the container to accommodate it. While looking for the container for the coffee cup keep your eye open for a long 3-4" wide and high rectangular plastic container that will fit in the space to the right of your seat and fasten it down with velcro as well. You could also use a small nylon zippered duffle bag for this if you prefer. As to the problem of idiot power boats driven by people who have no idea what they are doing...welcome to my nightmare as a professional boat captain who has to deal with them all the time. My preferred solution to them is a gun...but the law frowns on that!

@@onanysundrymule3144 My point was simply that these two products are great for construction of usefull items that can be removed easily without damage. The sheeting I spoke of is the stuff that real estate signs are made of. It is constructed exactly like the corrogated cardboard of a common cardboard box. I have used it for templates, bulkhead, boxes, cup holders, partitions etc. I saw a video of a guy who made a small powerboat from the stuff.

My two cents is, since you're already a hammock user, get elastic cord to fit splash skirt rim and thread a mesh ridgeline organizer onto it. Flip it inward to hang over the skirt edge. Makes it removable and drains water. It would at least handle the mentioned small bug spray and sunblock bottles. Might take some experimenting to see if a bottle holder ridgeline bag would support a coffee flask. I came across your review searching for information on the Eddyline Rio.

Steve Printy Eddyline does have covers, I was originally concerned that they would tear with the amount of times I get into them. Knowing my luck one would fail just as I started a trip. I liked the covers used by Wilderness Systems, which are on cheaper kayaks. So far they are holding up! As for cost, I’d have to call them as I have not seen replacement cost on their website.
