I’ve been afraid to start growing anthurium, but I feel like I’m ready now. I keep most of my plants alive 😂

The vanda basket seems like a good way to get antherium to grow happily. Thank you for the idea

I agree with many other comments that you need a bit more humidity for these anthurium. A super easy way to do that is to pack the main stem with moss and keep it moist. Since the inter nodal spacing is so compact on anthurium, by placing the moss around the stem, it allows them to continue rooting and growing super strong roots.

I recommend mid to high humidity, VERY chunky soil mix and frequent watering. In my experience they do not do well in moist soil

it really depends on the anthurium, clarinervium and polyschistum are much easier to grow in home conditions. i bought a pedatoradiatum and it was great outside, inside over the winter was a struggle, it's obviously more of a greenhouse plant.

@@notverynotoriousg5674 i raised a pedatoradiatum baby plant in normal indoor conditions (humidity 40-60%), not too much light. Never had a problem, might be the fastest growing anthurium i own. I‘m pretty sure mine came out of netherlamd based TC, maybe that‘s what makes the difference?

@@sovboph1050 it might be US stock, when Summer Rayne did a video on it you can see her new leaf is all twisted and gnarled. Does yours have really thin "fingers"? I have seen some that are a lot wider.

@@notverynotoriousg5674 so mine is definitly on the thinner side. i‘ve heard before that some of the rare anthurium coming out of TC recently are more hardy than their imported counterparts (queens especially, but i have not yet tried myself). but until now i did not relate my pedatoradiatum to that rumour. and i have to check on summer‘s video!

Lovely to see another anthurium gracile fan - I have a large one, leaves probably 50cm from the main chonk. Love it. They are one of the few anthuriums to self pollinate - hence the little red berries and the new little plants 🌱 🥰

Excited to see Summer Rayne stop in at the Philly Urban Jungle, maybe there's a co-lab in the works?! This is a video I didn't even know I really wanted! I just got 2 "easy" Anthurium (Crystallinum + Clarinervium) that were reccomended to me...I'm gonna need 🍷.

I love the leaves on the first anthurium, superbaum I think. Reminds me of my Peru and Dragonscale. The Peru is on top of a plant cabinet in the dining room and I touch it almost every time I walk by, lol.

I only have a clarinervium and a crystalinum, but I've had them for about a year now (in clear plastic pots) and I've found that they like frequent, but LIGHT, waterings. When I give them too much water at one time they almost always will expel excess water through their leaves which then turn into fungal spots😬

Hi Nick! The only Anthurium I've ever seen (that I know of) are the typical ones you buy when they are in bloom. I bought one last year and it is still doing ok, but I'm not sure if it will bloom again. I like the different varieties that you have. Thank you so much for sharing!

"Hi, Nick...my mind is full of curiosity. How do you take care of all your plants? I mean, do you have a schedule to take care of all? This week is must be families of Peperomia, next week is scheduled to have a date with all Hoyas, the next will be with families of Anthuriums, and the next with......... Is it like that? How do you manage all your life and share your time with your green babies? 😬✌"

I found that pedatoradiatum is not at all easy as opposed to the polyschistum which is super easy to care for. I also have one that dropped all its leaves. It now has one new leaf growing out and two other activated growth points. Just hope it has adapted and will continue to grow🤞

the two in the video that are easy to care for are clarinervium and polyschistum, if you want easier ones to keep that don't need a lot of extra humidity. they also don't get huge like a lot of them.

I just bought some houseplants recently and the anthurium seems to be doing fine. Peace lilies never do well for me. I don't know why. I always look up care instructions for plants after I buy them and I bought a Zantedeschia that just started dying as soon as I bought it. I'm a bit puzzled by it because you are not supposed to let the soil dry out except to reduce watering for 2 months of the year when the leaves start dying. This isn't that time of year, but I feel it was artificially forced before I bought it so it might be out of sync with the seasons as I have it indoors. To water or not to water and let it rest/die off for 2 months? I don't know. I keep watering it a little but it's still dying off. The plant I am most hopeless at growing is parsley. It always dies on me.
