Just finished watching this longer version of your journey while playing 4U at the same time. This game is very special to me, it's the first (and so far only) MH game I've played with online multiplayer and with it, the first time I fought several species of monsters that I've never fought before. I managed to meet a few awesome hunters who we bonded with each other two weeks before the servers were shut down. We created our own hunting party and scheduled our final daily hunts before the servers were dead and we fought practically the entire game in two weeks, farming and helping each other out with set building and upgrading as well. As the servers are now down at the time I type this, I'm doing some final "goodbye" quests to finish some sets that I'm creating based on my teams favorite "mixed sets", naming them after the Hunters that gave me these sets as a reminder of my last hunts and favorite hunters. Next will be a solo experience of Generations on my 3DS, planing on doing as much as I can before I eventually upgrade to Gen Ultimate, which will be fun to do as I'll be hunting and watching you play the same game. I love that Gypceros is just universally hated lmao. From flash to poison to faking death to stealing your fricken items (god forbid it be your map), bro is just AWFUL all around 😭 Also THANK YOU for bringing up the charm aspect. The silliness and charm of mh is one of my favorite things about it, and I’m sad that it’s not as prevalent anymore.

What really set my hatred for him was when I was farming for it's head for a Gunlance (in FU) and it took over 30 hunts to drop and then I needed like 3 or 4 more for the upgrade and I just lost my shit

2:12:43 one thing i really apreciate about Rajang in the older games is that he is a glass canon, every part of Rajangs body except his arms is considered a Weakspot, so you do maximum Damage whenever you hit his lower body, wich the game incentivises as all of Rajang's offenses are front facing, if you can outmanuver him and get behind him you can hit him for massive damage (though saddly i needed his horns back in the day so i had to grind Rajang while exclusively hitting his face wich made it way harder). One thing i do not like about worlds version of Rajang is that they limited his weakspots to only his head and tail thereby making him a lot tankyer and removing that glass canon like aspect.

I guess I can understand disliking MH3U compared to all the other games, but that was the first MH game I ever played and what got me into the series and it cut into me a little bit when you said what you said about it. Im not saying that what your opinion is of the game is wrong or that stuff you said about the game is wrong, its just that you sounded like you had a negative experience playing and I don't see how that is when 4U feels similar. Im not saying MH3U is perfect, but after playing MH4U, MHGU, MHW, and MHR I think its my favorite game out of the whole series. Maybe it was dry because you only played switch axe, maybe you just didn't like the roster of monsters, I can tell from your journals that you weren't a fan of underwater combat, and while it saddens me slightly I get it. I just think its a shame because I think if games get remastered I think 3U is gonna be the game that is left in the past

bro is a casual. rushes through the game using 1 weapon only and finishing "last" fatalis quest with his silly pledges and stops playing. MH is a collectaton. its a game that you are supose to play it for years on end. acomulate everything. experiment builds and what not. Bro does stuff for content and its fine. His way of viweing the games are not like you and me, gamers in heart. He is a cool dude and all, Writes very well also. but thats all it is, just content

Got back on 4u this weekend and got to high rank now I'm watching this video while doing some homework. About the handheld or controller debate...... I play with a keyboard and use arrows to move the camera and have had no big issue. As far as low rank goes I didn't have a quest lasting more than 10 minutes so I think keyboard is pretty cool 👍

J1: had no idea there were attachments for the 3ds will have to look into that! J2: as a kid i had no issues playing for hours on the 3ds XL but as an adult trying to play on my old 3ds is a NIGHTMARE. I can't do half the combos as the buttons either wont register my inputs or my hands cramp from being too big for it :/ J3: omg i remember I used a custom message to tell people not to hit the monster when I mounted. Long Sword users especially LOL j6(?): Crazy how you got through low-rank so fast, can't wait to see you fight a certain large snake! Fatalis J1: WOW! I had no clue you could fight a Fatalis in High Rank in this game! I might give it a shot myself later this week! Just gotta do these egg quests. I'm pretty far into g2 from my account I had growing up so hopefully with that gear I can make easy work of that guy. G1 J2: That Seregios quest was probably the biggest grind in my monster hunter career until recently. I had to kill 80 of them to get the two jaspers I needed for the switchaxe and armor set. I don't remember how long it took but man I don't know how I didn't give up. Shoutout to kid me for taking that grind on. G2/3 J1: Wow you've passed where I left off. I can't remember what quest was walling me or if i just stopped playing but damn looks like I have a lot of work to do.

I'm still playing the game & 99.99% completed it. I'm only missing 1 reward for 100% of the whole file. I have the complete set of Kirin series of relic armor from expeditions & it took me a long time to get all of them. Damn I hope pretendo adds this to the servers so I can go online again.

4:05:20 In regards to the "best chargeblade topic" generally the steve weapons are all really good for intermediate players that don't have a good end game mix set with skills like sharpness +1 razor sharp, atk up, etc because they have natural high affinity, purple sharpness and can recover some sharpness through rolling. However once you are later in the game, have farmed more armor sets, that have like: Honed Blade, Razor Sharp, Critical eye, challanger +2, the ceadus weapon just becomes overall better than the steve one. That isn't to say it's the best either, maybe the best non relic weapon though for monsters that aren't frenzied, which in that case most people use the chaotic gore cb. But I have seen absolutely busted relic weapons....but that's a thing for later, so in your situation I would agree that the steve cb is most likely the best option. Anyway, nice journey through my personal favorite monster hunter game, it just offered so much content that oozes personality. The frenzied system and how it weaves its way throughout both story and endgame loop to me is still the best mechanic, especially since it highlighted elder dragons and normal monsters equally whereas the qurio's or archtempered was always just an elder dragon only thing. Apex monster had stuff like gravios, Diablos and even tidal najarala. It's sad to see the official online servers gone, but hey for those that play on citra, you guys can still play online, since the emulator has a way to emulate local play. Also also, there if you didn't know already, there is a private fanserver for monster hunter frontier, the game offers even more fatalis versions :)

Never played a Monster hunter game up until like last week. Currently playing MH4U with controller on Citra on my phone and i must say, im hooked. Sadly i wish could have experienced the online aspect of the game, but overall, im having a blast, so much in one game and im all for it!! #INSECTGLAIVE🪲
