Thank you Sir for sharing your collection ! I’ll miss watching & especially learning from your videos. The model 686-4 & model 57 would fit me just fine. In my opinion the N frame revolver are what revolvers are suppose to look like & got me hooked back in the 70’s ! I have a few Colts but the S&W’s have always been my firearms of choice. I’ll be looking forward when the ones I’m looking at will come up for sale & hopefully I can say “ this one belonged to Big Swoll !” Thank you & good luck Sir.

I'm just starting my S&W revolver collection... a blue 586-1 in 8-3/8" with adjustable front and rear target sights... never fired and I got it for free! A 60 in 3" stainless... never fired, a 686 Plus Deluxe in 3" stainless... never fired. Gonna have to shoot them all some day... nah. Tomorrow I pick up a 637 Performance Center... I'll change that one to the Altamont Altai Super Rosewood grips (IMHO, the Altai grip models by Altamont are by far the best, prettiest, and most comfortable grips for the J and K/L round frame Smiths), then I'll probably never fire that one either!
@mr2275cur2 ай бұрын
Sounds like you're off to a great start. I'm not sure why you never plan on firing them though. Altamont grips and stocks are really well made, fit great, reasonably priced, and are comfortable in the hand. They are a little thin for my liking, butt still great nonetheless.

My dad also used to have a 6 inch 686 for a long time. That and his 629 classic with full lug 8 3/8" barrel, I was shooting those when I was 10! I was helping reload brass to back then lol. By the time I could drive I had been shooting for over half a decade. When I was 10 I was loading the magazine on his Colt Gov 1911, loading the mag, racking the slide and shooting it as fast as I could pull the trigger lol. He used to have about 60 guns until I was about 30 and he sold most of them off. Those early 686 snubbies are amazing. I'd love to have one with nice magna grips from the 70's with the wide checkering pattern. Ugh, one day.

One of my favorites from your collection is that first gun, the Model 66 no dash. I’m partial to the P&R Smith & Wessons. I learned a lot about the features of these particular guns from your videos, so thank you; I appreciate that. I just added a 686+ Deluxe with a 3 inch barrel to my collection. Can’t stop getting it out of the safe just to handle it and dry fire it. Bought it used, but the person who sold it never fired it, so it only had the burn marks from the factory. Dang. Just found your channel bout a month ago. I'm using your stock refinishing method on all my Smiths and it's going great. Used the high gloss poly on my 19-3 panels and they look great but i tried the warm gloss poly on my next set from my 29-2 and i may like it a little better. Not sure yet. Gotta look at em a little more. Got several more to do. Thanks for all your help sir.

Thank you Mr. Allen. Once you do one set of stocks, you just want to do them all. I did a couple sets in semi-gloss that look great too. They look better on blue or satin / brushed finishes IMO.

Thank you Mr. Benton. But it is time. Hopefully the next owners will value, appreciate and enjoy them as I have.

Have had many Smiths - however five kids, a wife of 55 years, and empty pockets, have led to trades, sells, etc. 😢. Thank you for really good reviews, and an accent appreciated by the northern "Yank" 😂
