I wasn't laughing - I was thinking your shim is a bit thick. If you sand and Polish the shim a bit (to a smidgin under 0.3mm) it will glide in the cuff so much easier. If you want to get a bit fancier - you can make the tip of the shim like a blade. However, that aside, great job and good luck in the draw 👍 😀

Thanks for that, any idea why the right side is so much harder to 'pick' than the left? It does seem like the centre post is off centre on that one so that maybe why? It's totally humbling to have a go at something that people (you) make look so easy and find it just isn't 😂

@NIGBEE-lock-bothering - Just like padlocks, cuffs have tolerances. 2 of the same model padlock pick different, even with the same key bitting. Same thing with cuffs. What you might find is that the pawl is a little higher in the hard to pick cuff. You can give yourself a mechanical advantage by gently squeezing the bow, to halfway between bow teeth. This then pushes the pawl lower in the cuff body, and more into the keyway. Then you can easily connect to the pawl with your tool and pick them open.
