13600k was what I went with in my 4090 build as well. 4K60-120 in the games I play. The extra money went into 64 Gigs RAM and an extra 2tb SSD.

wow i was in the middle of the video and was expecting a price. if i had to guess? $500 for cpu+mobo+ram, $100 for case, $100 for psu, $100 for ssd, and $1599 for 4090. so around $2400-$2500 for a build like this? someone correct me if i’m wrong in my estimations.

Apparently, that sideways bend on the adapter can cause the connector to melt. The outside wires can break connection, but the card still thinks all 4 are connected so it pulls max power thru 2 wires instead of 4.

This is almost identical to the build I just ordered. 4090, 13600k, 3600mhz DDR4 ram, Z690 tomahawk. Didn't see much of a need to go any higher with the cpu as I'm perfectly happy with my framerate just remaining above 60fps for single player titles while maxed out. Will still be able to max out my monitors refresh rate (165hz) for competitive titles as well so no issue there. Overall a solid build which should last my the 4 years until my next one. Saving money while still getting a near perfect experience is always a good feeling.

5800X3D, similar performance, price crashed down to about £350.00, so decided to go with a CPU upgrade for gaming. No need for DDR5, new motherboard, new CPU cooling AIO. I can offset the cost by selling my AMD 5600X Zen 3 CPU. Saving oh about £500.00. My new CPU arrives Monday.

120fps at 4k w/ RT is the ultimate goal for gamers right now who want a purely cinematic experience. The i5 13600k looks like it could be there with optimized settings and not default Ultra's, it seems very achievable for non CPU intense games. The 4090 is crazy in more than just performance. With the price being the way it is not including a 120hz 4k monitor... Looks like budget cinematic gamers will have to "sacrifice" for 1440p 165hz (at least with a sub $3k budget).

If you’ve got a job and not too many bills, pc building companies do financing and you can get a really solid computer built for $1500-$1800 and pay monthly on it for 18-24 months. I’m in the US so the stores may be different but I’ve just recently financed my first ever pc with an i5-13600k and 4070Ti

Having a long cable in the adapter before it splits would easily fix both the horrendous looks and the melting issues. In this case tho (pardon the pun) the ugliness of the front panel matches the ugliness of the nvidia adapter

nice build but the biggest flaw that I saw is the top radiator fans are set intake that's not right they should be in exhaust position as the front three fans are already in intake position! The airflow is gonna suffer a lot as there are no fans to push the hot air of components outside of the case!

I believe the windows 11 cpu error you got was because windows 11 requires TPM ie “Secure boot” to be enabled in the bios. Also you madlad I think you left the internal sheet of plastic on that case side!

if the xmp is set to 3600mhz on the 16gb kit it should still be set if you wanted to add an extra 16gb kit you shouldn't have to reset xmp

Most motherboards reset any RAM profile when you change anything about your memory config. Even swapping two dims around.

Nice build and love ur content so far, found your channel last week while researching components for a build and watched a few, fun content for real! I have all my components arriving in a few days for my first build in about 10 years. Gone high end 13900k, z790 MB, DRR5 and 4090 etc. (been saving for a year and now feels like the right time tech wise) i just pray everything is compatible and i dont break anything lol. Your vids are great to watch, but i may need a more in depth explanation of things like all the MB connectors etc so ill scour through your vids and hopefully you have some like that! Im sure failing that the instructions may come in handy 😂

I thought Nvidia and some others have recommended never to use the pig tail connections on the power supply cables with their adaptor. I see you did just that in the video. Wonder how deliding would do the CPU if OCing it.

I know you were going to cheapest here but wouldn't it be better to just go ahead and spend the extra for ddr5? That seems to be the only thing that I wouldn't gimp out on. The reason I say that is because ddr5 will get much faster in the future so that would be an easy upgrade later. The 700 series motherboards are not really that expensive now either. 😄 Great video. I have my i5 12600k at 5.2ghz all core on the p-cores and 4ghz on the e-cores all core. With that overclock will have see about the same performance as the i5 13600k and i'm on about just the P-Cores performance as the 5.2ghz makes my single core performance very strong but i was just wondering if it would make the P-Cores about the same as a non overclocked i5 13600k

Z790 doesn’t make sense at all for a “cost effective” gaming rig. Should’ve gone for budget B660 that has non-trash vrm just enough to feed 13600k, like B660m pro rs. As for ram, even DDR4 3200 non-oc will do the job.

So im looking to upgrade my CPU, mobo and RAM, I would love to go high end because I usually do and get a better CPU (13900/13700) and DDR5 (approx $1600-1700 total), but price point for me just doesn't seem plausible. Does the 13600 w/ DDR4 3200 / 3600 RAM (approx $1000) make sense and will last me a very long time? Mainly my goal is to play future D4, Harry potter, Apex, Valorant, Halo, etc. Im starting a family early next year so I know game time wont be as often, but might be starting a job as a programmer so I still want a good decent PC that will last me a long time. other notable piece is I have a 6800XT. main question: in your honest opinion does the 13600 w/ DDR4 RAM have the ability to last me at least 5-7 years gaming? if anything should I step up CPU to 13700?

The Usage is counted in All Cores/Threads. Most games cant or dont use all Cores/Threads. So the CPU is still bottlenecking. (Correct me if im wrong about Cores/Threads)

Those unsupported proccessor BSOD for win 11 installation is fixable by bios update or you could just install win 10 *edit: just installed win 11 yesterday, I thought my ISO is corrupted. I guess it's MSI things.
