Great video. Greetings from Chicago Illinois (USA). I'm a novice yard guy but your videos are so important to me. I love a nice yard, still got a long way to go as this yard was not maintained for 65 or so years. Regardless thank you for the GREAT INFORMATION. God bless you and your family. Happy Thanksgiving ❤

Looking good! When you're putting down £30-50 of seed, the same in pre-seed fert and probably double that in compost it just makes sense at that point to spend the extra £20-30 for a roll of fleece.

Top stuff Shaun. What a lovely house and now a nice rear lawn too. Cutting that 2 or 3 times a week is gonna take a bit of time, but that'll be amazing in the summer if the customer gets on it. 👍

@LawnRight They need to get the lawn bug mate. That is gonna be such a good start for them to have a really lush lawn by June. Some headphones, bit of music, a mower and you are just having a little walk a couple of times a week. Well, perhaps is this case not so much a "little" walk. Warm today (24) but in the long range forecast we have another year of rain planned for Wednesday in the Murcia region. But that is a big area so we may escape the worst down here. Snow forecast on higher ground too. Warnings are already out. It'll be sunny again Thursday though. What a place! The undeveloped part of the basement is just drying out from last week's onslaught. I also just spotted a hairline but very long crack in the kitchen ceiling plaster from the earthquake a few weeks ago. More filler and paint. Living the dream mate, living the frikkin dream. 😁

Turned out lovely Shaun, very nice well done to you both 😜👌🏼. Took mine back to the dirt August, aerated 124sq by hand, starter fertiliser, seeded, Jack's Magic top dress, rolled, seeded over, raked then fleeced. 15 days looked absolutely amazing, I'm so chuffed and over the moon 😍👍🏼. Fleece is an absolute MUST as the pigeons eat the lot 🐦🐦 😂👍🏼. Thank you for all your advice, you've taught me so much this year, greatly appreciated 😉👍🏼

Great work and getting the rewards with job satisfaction. Bought a verticutter and hollow tiner that you recommended a month or two back and only had time to sort the back lawn but took out a load of thatch and it came back quite quick in the main. No doubt some seed to germinate in the spring. Thanks again for the advice. 👍🏻

Hi Alan, yes, it was really pleasing to visit.. I was a bit apprehensive travelling there, as it was a fairly expensive job, and you always wonder what it will look like and if you'll need to do any spring repair work.. but thankfully, the damp mornings ensured the seeds got enough moisture which was critical

I did a lawn about six weeks ago and if it was not worm casts it would have looked great, I did consider putting down a worm repellent BUT she also has hedgehogs evidence do I didn’t, catch 22! I’m going to have to redo it all again in the spring! Was I right or wrong….? Did I have options I am not aware of?

Hi mate, love your videos very informative!! Was just wondering how much soil/seed/fertiliser do you need per m2? Tia!
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 6 күн бұрын
Hi it varies on eachjob. A bag of soil will cover a fair bit, seeds can be overseeded or seeded so depends on the lawn. Each will have an application rate

Hi Shaun I re-levelled and seeded my lawn 8 weeks ago with Hurrells general amenity seed and at the moment I am digging up poa grass that is seeding from my original lawn my main concern is I hope it is poa that I am digging up and not perennial rye or fescue I can’t find anything on google showing images of the 3 different grasses when they seed. Could you explain the differences or do a short video showing the different grasses, thank you I have learnt so much from your videos
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 3 ай бұрын
Hi Brian, the poa is usually a little lighter in. colour once its a bit more established - usually it stands out quite a bit, so you are probably on the right path.. Ill help as much as I can, but wrong time now to be planting and testing grass types Im afraid
@BrianThurman-k9t
@BrianThurman-k9t 3 ай бұрын
@ thank you Shaun for all your help the poa grass I have is lighter green broader leaves thicker shoots and bushier creeping habitat, I just did not know what rye and fescue looked like when it is seeding. Thanks for all your help

How many grams of soluble iron to you put on per sq/m? I've put on 4 and that doesn't seem enough! Would more than this quantity damage the existing grass.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 3 ай бұрын
Hi, I generally apply about 800 to 1000g per knapsack which covers about 400 sq metres, which is 100g per 40 sq metres, 10g per 4 sq metres, so 2.5g per sq metre and works ok. It can take a few days for it to react
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 3 ай бұрын
and if you add too much the worse is the grass darkens,.. I once turned a lawn completely black (25 years ago when just starting), it recovered after a few weeks
@martinsefton3444
@martinsefton3444 3 ай бұрын
If I have @ 1000sq/m of grass that has more moss than grass would you simply spray iron , scarify then overseed because if you add seeding soil on that meterage its expensive. Could I get away without using seeding soil?
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 3 ай бұрын
hi, you can but success rates do fall.. however do you even need to seed? if its absolutely thrashed thick with moss then likely yes will need to seed, but if there is plenty of grass among the moss, just scarify and let it recover. (however id wait till spring)

Another superb job, well done Shaun 🙂 One thing that may save your back when taking up the fleece is a telescopic peg remover that I saw a fellow caravanner on a pitch next to me using recently, to take out his awning pegs without bending down! It would certainly be beneficial on large lawns like this one!
