The bird is an American Robin. They are the first ones awake in my neighborhood. They generally start a singing very early, before Astronomical Twilight which is, depending on the time of year, an hour before daybreak. When my husband first passed, I couldn’t sleep for more than a couple hours at a time. The nights seemed to drag on. But I knew once the I heard that first Robin, it would be just another hour before daylight. I told my children if the nights seem too dark, lonely, long, or scary just listen for the Robin sing his song & hang on a just a little longer for a new day!
