Hey Jenn! I really enjoy your videos & your comments about journaling made me think about how I started to journal to God two years ago and how I also thought (just like you) that it feels like no one in this world could understand me. But in reality, that's actually the truth! Only God knows your heart and loves you so much because he FULLY knows you. And that love is why we can live, like truly live. Romans 5:8. Yes, good food, a relationship, or a career can satisfy temporarily. But only God's love can fit that void in your life for eternity

Couple of years ago, I was doing yoga and also journaling my feelings. It helped me so much. While I write I cry if it's sad. If I'm angry my handwriting gets messy and different. When I'm happy, my writing looks amazing. It made a world of a difference in my life. I will probably start journaling too. I've been so imbalance with my feelings. But I realized during my early years, they genuinely help. It's rough at the start but the key to the rough start is not to force yourself to write everyday if you can't. Baby steps, you know.... And it will eventually turn into a daily thing. I especially do it on days where I need to let my feelings out. I'm not an influencer or have an amazing life. But I think at that time of my life. I got my wits together even though it was a rough patch.

Jenn, thanks so much for talking about “highly processed media.” I didn’t know there was a word for it before, but I have been feeling very overwhelmed with all the news on social media these days. I want to stay up to date on current events without feeling drained from sifting through so many sensationalized news stories on social media - I’m going to try reading more print journalism!

Hi Jenn!! Quick advice from a mexican subscriber. You can put your poblano pepper directly on the flame of the stove until it gets black on each side, and then remove that black layer. The flavor of the pepper after this becomes 100x better, that’s how we use it here!

I was looking at this video and thought the exact same thing. She needs someone to tell her to char the poblano, remove the skin, and use CORN tortillas! Also homemade beans!!! Pressure cook this beans and refry them with a Lil oil and mash them up. The entire meal will be 1000x better

“Everything I do is to make myself feel better the next day”. You have no idea how positively that sentence resonated with me. I just started bullet journaling as a way to make myself play just three things to accomplish the next day and write a sentence of gratitude to help me go to be thinking optimistically. I’m a nurse and I’ve been struggling a lot with positively especially lately, obviously. You saying that made me want to plan more at night to lift my own self up the next day. Thanks Jenn!

Hey Jenn - I know how challenging you find the late afternoon/evening period so it is wonderful to see that you have found your own way of enjoying this time now. I think it is important for people to remember that you have been discovering, exploring, learning and experimenting through different means and methods over a period of time to find what works for you. It is so inspiring to see and I hope that others are able to find what works for them. Being committed to our wellbeing is really what is going to help us be better people, be the best we can be (progress over perfectionism) and be kinder and more giving towards others. Reading is really a great place to start :-)

Ugh, as a fellow journaler and planner, I totally relate! Two things you might enjoy, Jenn: 1) the essay “On Keeping a Notebook” by Joan Didion and 2) the website FutureMe, where you can write emails to your future self and receive them at a specified date- not the same as ink and pen, of course, but pretty cool nonetheless!

Found a morning routine I love- walking, meditation, working out and doing morning pages- but it all kind of went to sh*t at night and I've end up on my laptop until 12am and feel so groggy the next day. Thank you so much for this. I also do similar activities to wind down at night, but I'm often criticized by my family because it's different from what they do. One of the things that helps me a lot is writing the next day's plans on a dry erase board in my room. I'm someone who doesn't think or remember to look at my itinerary unless it's literally "in my face". Since we're home mostly now, I see this dry erase board a lot, which reminds me of what I need to accomplish in the day! I guess when we start in-person school (I'm a nursing student), I will probably have to use a little book or planner. We shall see how it all pans out. Again, thank you for all you do, it is quite motivating :) Have a great day!
