Hey Lee. So, I actually built the same computer as you and I was having the same problems. Error messages, blue screens, freezing, errors. I even took it to a computer shop and they couldn't even fix it. So, after some deep research, I found that it was my BIOS that was set wrong. I set mine to XMP. This utilizes the memory. So, the memory will configure the settings and set the overclock speeds. JayzTwoCents on KZbin has a great video on this called, "XMP vs Overclock". Trying some of his settings options might help. Hope this helps.

So I realize this videos over a year old, but I've had the exact issue with my EVGA 2080 Ti XC card. I've now gone through 3 RMA's, each card failing exactly like the last one - hard crashes, artifacts, etc. I replaced my PSU, updated BIOS, drivers, reinstalled windows 10 and even tested the cards in a known working PC... and still had the same problem with the cards. Really wish EVGA didn't use refurb cards for RMA's.
@macrossmerrell5 жыл бұрын
The issues you describe can be power supply related as well. The 2080 can pull about 250 watts of power, which can quickly over power a weak power supply, especially if the power connections are in the same rail. You could try using the included power adapters and use the molex connections to split the power across different rails.

I had similar issues when I first bought my card, the problem in my case turned out to be that many modern power supply units require you to use a specific PCI 8 pin slot (if modular). it was pretty dark in my old tower case so I had accidentally hooked it up to an 8-pin peripheral slot which meant the card wasnt getting enough power when performing heavy tasks. for anyone having issues with a new card when performing heavy GPU tasks or with high performance games, I'd recommend to check your cables and PSU slots are not only properly plugged in but also in the case of corsair PSU's using the correct slots (the labeling can be a bit off). second is as mentioned below, to reset your bios after changing hardware and making sure it runs as standard. After that if you still have issues, consider only installing the drivers and not the nvidia or amd extras like 'geforce experience' etc. Finally if that doesnt work, consider rma if you werent having issues before. I had my old card die on me randomly and start crashing in a similar way to when my new card was plugged in wrong (apart from my old card the heatsink/fans were broken since it was hitting 100c when I debugged it).

It sounds like the issue is on Nvidia's end. People from all brands are having problems, mostly with the 2080. It also doesn't seem like a large number of cards are failing, just an unlucky few. Sounds like there was a quality control hiccup in the early production phase for their higher-end GPU components and so now we're seeing card failures, even though some of those cards have been discontinued due to the errors. Apparently some companies made mistakes with cooling which is another reason why some got discontinued.

When did you buy the card? The first batch of RTX cards have the issues you described (due to NVIDIA's manufacturing). If the card is manufactured after around November, it should be fine. NVIDIA discontinued the 2080 and 2070 and replaced them with their 2080 SUPER and 2070 SUPER to better compete with AMD. Since NVIDIA don't manufacture those chips anymore, it's very likely that EVGA would be sending you old inventory that might be defective. Ask them to run tests on it before sending them to you, or you could ask for a refund and buy another card.

Have had the EVGA 2080Ti since launch and have had no problems. you might want to say change the title of the video :P EVGA is number 1 for a reason ^^ and yes its Nvidia and I'm REALLY thinking about switching to AMD after like 15 years of Nvidia ... anyways EVGA is kinda a BIG thing in the industry and I don't want some fanboys getting all made about that :P oh also trying using the studio drivers from Nvidia that might help a bit. I know it did for me.

Almost seems like it could be a voltage or heat thing. Almost like a bad overclock, very weird. EVGA has been good for me, although like Asus more.

@skatertwig265 жыл бұрын
@@Lidoe I like the design of Asus better but honestly never head issues with Asus, Msi or EVGA on Windows 10. They all perform well, so it depends on what you prefer in terms of fan noise, controllability and heat. Electronics can always have issues, that's the thing.

It’s not evga it’s because nvidia used micron gddr6 then they switched to Samsung gddr6

I had this same card. Never buying evga again, returned it for an MSI hopefully it's better. All I had with this card was crashing and cooling issues in games.

Adobe itself being in the industry is wrong. Making a culture with sub-based software, Adobe, is quite wrong. I think you are heavily supporting it.

A lot of "cheap" manufacturers have a higher failure rate per 100 cards, that's one of the reasons they are cheaper. You save $50 vs. Asus or MSI or whatever on a $1100 card, is it worth it? Well, usually all is fine, but sometimes you just get unlucky (twice).
