To the guy in the first story he could have been sending the money home to HIS family and kids in Australia. Instead his peace and quiet was ruined by bringing a random stranger, a woman from a bar, into his living space. And he's paying for it! Overlooking how he magically obtained a Thai permanent residency visa. If the guy was so desperate for companionship he should have got a cat or dog and saved himself huge aggravation and cost. The streets are full of stray cats and dogs. How desperate would you have to be?! Guys are great at complicating their lives and trying to justify why they did it. When I was stationed at Clark AB, Phillipines, back in the '90s, i befreinded an expat bar owner. He married a local Filipino girl years ago, bought a huge house, bar and restaurant. It was all in her name because foreigners cant own property. One day he was arrested and thrown in jail for spousal abuse (made up charge). He spent several months jail and when released, she sold everything and cleaned out their bank accounts and disappeared. He found out later, it was planned, fake charges left to jail giving her time to liquidate everything and never to be seen again. This wiped him out, over a million dollars. I know that these stories make it seem like all of the girls from the bars are bad. I know that is the case with some of them, but I have Thai friends that have worked in bars and met Westerners and married them and everything has been happy. I also first met my girlfriend in 2018 when she was working in a bar. She was older, but honest and never tried to scam me in any way. It's been 6 years now and all is still good. The first story shocking.I was told by this old guy in Pattaya that he had £80,000 stolen from his secret hidey hole in the false ceiling.He couldn't work out how it was stolen because his girlfriend was the only person that new about his secret hidey hole.

Im curious as to where his apartment was as he could have requested security cam footage to identify the intruders. Also most apartments use key card access to the complex, so random strangers can't access

Some of the oldest smaller buildings don't have CCTV and you can basically walk up the communal stairs and knock on somebody's front door

Morning Pete. I enjoyed these two longer stories that both had lots of detail. Unbelievable what some of these bar girls are capable off - clearly some are encouraged by family and friends but I guess rhay you would have to be rather unlucky for this to happen to you.
