Jay needed to hear it. Sometimes tuff love is needed. Also he probably already spoke to the mom and nothing changed. He was very sad and was pushed into a corner. I understand jays feelings but your attitude towards the step father was unwarranted.

His wife need to step in with Jay. She may not realise now but I think she will grow up and realise. She really wants her dad to do those things for her. He should confide in his wife and come up with a plan. I don’t think he is being mean he just had enough.

I disagree with that advice about Jay, she’s been with him since 6 years old her behaviour hasn’t changed in all these years. Nah Jay is the a$$hole in this & her own medicine was handed to her, now she knows how it feels. Her mom must have a conversation with her too. The second story had me HOLLERING, sis is a role model 😂😂 love it for her and he is probably still kicking himself after not valuing the one person who was possibly the best thing that ever happened to him.

I honestly disagree….. these behaviours if not checked can be problematic. He has taken full responsibility of being a parent. He even tries to be there emotionally & is met with contempt. She needs to learn gratitude,respect & manners. And as he is her ‘father’ by all that he does for her & him being there, automatically grants him the respect he deserves. He is human & it going on for 8 years is too long, even if he is the adult. It had to be said. By him…..so she knows not cross him like that again.

I think in the first part the girl takes it out on her stepdad because kids act out in spaces they feel safe. The fact that she takes it out on him to me feel like she feels safe with her stepdad and she says things that she feels.

So I don't really agree with you. I don't think he is the bad guy here. He just wanted her to know that he was hurt and did that by saying that back to her so she could understand how insensitive she was. Yeah I wouldn't encourage always seeking this method to deal with kids/teenagers but sometimes it has to be done to give them that wakeup call that their parents also have feelings and can be hurt. Especially that her behaviour was not a one-time thing, and she didn't even apologise about it and went straight to asking for money! And yeah would say that the mom shouldn't let things go this way anyway, she could've stopped it since day one.
