Hey lilie today I got my ielts result.i scored overall band 7 Reading 8 Listening 7.5 Speaking 6 Writing 6.5 And the most surprising thing is that I didn't complete the task 1. Additionaly my task 2 is a simple essay with no many complex vocabs .I Just followed your paragraphing techniques and got a 6.5 even without completing task 1.Thank u Thanks a lot. Hi Lilie! I just got my results last night and got 7.5 in writting! All big thanks to your tips in writting- I made a mistake of writting "the remaining" categories without ever mentioning their names at all from a bar chart but still got a 7.5 🥰 I got an overall 8 🤗 Listening 8.5, Reading 8, Writting 7.5, Speaking 7.5 From all of the online lesson services, youtube videos, I could only say yours was the easiest to understand for writting. ​@nargizaslanova6849 A few things I kept in mind when I did my writting (while panicking 😅): Task 1 (not for maps or cycles): Avoid repetitions (what is already written in general paragraph doesn't need to be repeated in details) Organize + generalize - categorize what is similar. "Increase, decrease, etc." Write them in a sentence or two. - You can even write smth like "A and B increased slightly, but C skyrocketted from X to Y". I wrote smth like this for details paragraph + it fufills the need for comparison. Task 2: "Highlight" what is essential on the task exp: The government should make a "public transport" that is "free" and works "24/7" to "reduce traffic". Do you agree or disagree? "This will need to be explained and mentioned" Use example-led paragraph (A USEFUL TIP FROM LILIE 😭) basically explaining something using an example. Make your main topic clear in the first sentence Exp: making public transport that works 24/7 will help reduce traffic because bla bla bla Also try to make only 1 main topic in each paragraph (another useful tip from Lilie 🤗)

​@@nargizaslanova6849 Pretty much similar to what you said, writting everyday. 😅 Without anyone to examine my practices, I compared model answers to mine for task 1 (comparing your OVERVIEW with the model answer is essential) However, task 2 is a different story because ideas can vary person to person. So I only examined my answer by checking if I have fufilled the essential points (the ones I listed for task 2 previously)

This is so true, my brother took the exam a few years ago and got a 6.5 in writing. He went into the exam blind and had no idea that he had to write an overview at all, he also said that he wrote two paragraphs instead of four and reported every detail but still got a decent score.

I mean in the first paragraph we write about people who over 65 In the second paragraph we combine 0-14 and 25-64 and write about them in one paragraph Can we group ages by time period? In one paragraph we write about all ages in the period 1960-2024 (past and present) In one paragraph we write about all ages in the period 2024-2040 ( future) Or will be it too big amount of information in one paragraph?
