She referred to hippies, in the interview; saying that (paraphrasing) Palestinians "aren't like hippies" (implying that similarities had been noticed). To me, the reference backed up what I had been feeling: that there's a pull away from the unbalanced materialism and greed that is exemplified by zionist and international elites. I feel that Palestinians' strength of faith (whether a person follows any religion, or not), bravery, dignity and ability to be grateful for being alive, even in the most shocking circumstances, is actually 'inspiring' (I can't think of the right word - 'inspiring' almost seems disrespectful, given the horror) an international pull away from the unbalanced greed that has characterised much of the world, for some time. I feel that it's abhorrent that people have had to be 'inspired' in such a way and I believe that international elites, such as decades of US federal politicians, are entirely complicit in what's led to the genocide now being committed.
