My EXJW Story | Should You Disassociate? | My Disassociation Letter to the Jehovah's Witness Cult

Most critical thinkers are on the fence on whether to Disassociate from the Watchtower and Bible Tract society. Jehovah's Witnesses don't understand that it's a separation from an Organization/Corporation, not a separation from God. That's just ridiculous! LOL! Here's my reasons and example which may be helpful to you. Thank you for watching and Thank you for breaking the Cycle. Here's some spilt tea since Kool-aid is no longer on the menu. LOL

I disassociated in February, and I wasn’t even baptized, and they still won’t leave me alone! Last night, I got a preachy text from someone in the congregation my mother and I visited. I think all I can do is vigorously unwitness and talk about the ARC among other topics I’m sure they won’t want to acknowledge.

Yep, as long as you are not a baptized convert you are fare game for them to handle their ministry to convert you for the organization not feel blood guilty to the GB. For sure start talking about those criminal cases and question the validity of the GB even being annointed contrary to the scriptures and that should do it.

Fantastic ... I sent mine Summer 2019 to branch and elders, for me I could not in all conscience be even a nominal member (even if inactive) of an organisation supporting domestic abuse, CSA, shunning etc. It would have made me partially responsible and I didn't want that on my conscience, so I left. My BIGGEST regret, and I agree with you wholeheartedly here, was I should have sent it to ALL in the congregation, and I would urge anyone sending in a DA letter to send it to ALL in the congregation. Exactly it’s ridiculous. In my case they would just keep bugging. Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t know boundaries. They will continue to be in your business until they disfellowship you. This was the fastest way for me. We are glad we did it.

Thank you very much for this testimony. Gone are the days when we exJWs kept silent in our deadly isolation. Today let us be proud to have excluded this company from our life. Let us stand up and speak, bear witness, with a loud voice. Today fear has changed sides. There are more and more activists. Speech is finally freed (thank you internet) to the great despair of this American society which no longer understands what is happening to it.

All were Reproofs but one. He is still out and will not ever go back. We reconnected after I left. He accepted my apology and we keep in touch. He’s doing great.

I was personally grappling with this when I woke up. I thought about fading but this didn't work for me because the elders were nosy and always stalking me. I finally got the courage to disassociate. Thanks for sharing your story. You made the right decision. All the best into the future.

I wrote mine in March, 2016. I was 17, a week away from turning 18. I rode my bike to the hall that was a mile away from where I lived, I slipped my letter in the door, and I drove across town to my brother’s house, stayed there until the meeting that night was over and had a bunch of calls from my mom and Mamaw, so I said fuck thisssss and called my aunt to come pick me up and I hid for weeks. Can't help but wonder what you and family did going forward..Did you have friends outside the cult?? Are your kids grown so that holiday celebrations was something they had to learn to do..would b great to see a video about these details. Thanks so much, Loving this.

My kids are mostly adults, 28,23, and 16. We celebrated when my oldest was real young but he didn’t remember much and my daughter was a baby. Now we are creating our own traditions and have incorporated my SIL into the festivities. He loves the holiday season even though he was a fourth generation Witness. It’s been tough regarding his family since they shun and have never attempted to meet their 18 mo old grandbaby. So sad. We are doing great though. I want to do a video on each celebration. Most Witnesses say that if they would leave the religion that they never celebrate Halloween, well it’s one of our favorite holidays. It creates memories and is fun for kids. Witnesses are taught to be superstitious. Holidays are a way to break free from the control of a superstitious and pretend based religion. Best wishes and good health to you.

@@EdwardRayWoodworks I agree 100% and I so love Halloween. It's a great opportunity for creativity. I had all those wonderful memories and traditions growing up. My mom made it so special for us. But how awful for my Mom when I and my siblings became Witnesses. All the traditions and memories she built for us were now taken from her. I was the only one that left the cult after 20 + years . Found myself apoolgizing to my Mom daily for robbing her of her greatest joys, celebrating all the holidays with us. At least I had many years of holiday celebrations with her before she passed. Sending a letter to me is an acknowledgement of their authority. Won't ever do it. People who say they won't stop bugging them... Very simple solution. Start recording them. If you are on a phone tell them they are being recorded.

I wasn't expecting that just declaring " nope i'm done with this deception being in and on my life,by sending the DA letter. Would unlock so much joy peace rest and health. I'm thankful I sent the letter. THis organization DOES break up families, Because my dad, stepmom and 2 siblings are in there and they one of those : devot respectable family examples". SO this was tough choice because I didn't want to lose them. I couldn't do it i HAD TO GO. I'm keeping the hope alive that they will wake up one day AND i am unavaliable for the dysfunction.
