Amazing how mother nature works and we get to observe their life behaviors courtesy of B.E.A.R. ...but how amazing that Blake, a young man who loves all animals, spent thousands of dollars to create this home-made environment meant to emulate how these birds strive & live amongst each other! *Life is Beautiful*

I would leave the branch hanging over the pond. Even if you can't see the waterfall to good there it, there other places to stand to look at it. That branch/weed will look great in there and I sure that the birds will event use it for a lot of ways.

You may also consider making a hinge front opening on the boxes, you could then put a 1/2 piece of clear acrylic inside on the front so no nesting or fledglings will fall out when opened. It will make it easier to clean out after the season as well.

I've got much respect for you Blake, what you have accomplished with fires and lighting strikes to contend with as well!! I am Oglalla Lakota and in the Lakota way anybody who has been struck by lightning and survived especially more than one time is considered a "Heyoka" a contrary, and from what I've seen, the way you do things I believe you are one. Contraries in the old days had a special way with the horses and were Buffalo callers and seers, they have a special connection to the mother (earth) and many were great healers also!! I believe that you are a contrary little brother!! Lila wast'e yelo! Mitakuye Oyasin! Very good, All my Relations!

The aviary look so cool so far, I'd love soemthing like this, tho the biggest challenge, would be finding things that fit like my environment, as it can be pretty chilling, I could provide areas to help avoid issues with the weather and give them a choice to be hidden from it or out in it. but the cold tho is an issue as if it's too cold they won't go out period or might suffer from going out, yk? Tho, I'd love a big building, which can double as a big area for larger fish and reptile enclosures that definitely can't go outside, but also a quarantine area for any potential new animals for outdoor areas, yk? As don't want anything coming in and making any established animals really sick or worse, plus ofc I'd want to avoid any mixed species that could cause issues in the fashion that some species are immune to a disease while another isn't. Like chickens, rabbits etc can carry diseases that guinea pigs, tortoises etc might not do so well with if they caught it 🤷‍♀️ plus ofc rabbits being ordinary size and bigger would probably just cause issues in general having strong feet and teeth, so they are probably off the table in general for me... hmm I've seen people keep ducks and geese together, so maybe if you can find a species that can work in that environment and with the already established animals, you could try some geese maybe? Any domestic geese can't fly either due to being bred to be fattier than their wings can now handle, or their neck and head being held in a more unnatural position like straight up for some ducks or geese, so if you ever add any domestic breeds of geese or ducks, they won't be able to fly so would be walking and running about maybe flapping their wings for exercise, or in the bigger area if you build a massive aviary you could do wilder breeds that can fly and maybe give them so upward platforms people would do for birds, birds of prey etc. Allow to flyers a way to get peace from the non flying animals at the bottom hehe.. tho unless you have a natural way to do it, cleaning any man made top areas would probably be hard 🤷‍♀️ Ever looked into guinea fowl? They are pretty loud, though some people would mix them with other poultry and even other farm animals as lookouts since if they see a predator or intruder they'd send out a warning and other animals in the area start to tie that noise to something to potentially get away from, so pretty interesting imo. I've also seen like a zoo exhibit with what they say is an African/Marsh exhibit with Red-crested Turacos, Crested Coua, African Spoonbills, Madagascar Crested Ibis.. an something I don't remember, but the combo looked so nice, maybe you could see if any of these fit the bill of the enclosure and ofc interest you..

Put your Yellow footed tortoises in the aviary, the environment would suit them as a species, as they like to spend a lot of time in and around water, and they will graze on all the ground weeds, it may even help with there breeding.
