It was genius, really. The majority of the painting is dark when looking at the night sky. Folks don't always think of the lighter colors. If I didn't recently put together my Starry Night puzzle I wouldn't have realized just how much light sky colors there are.

Actually, the name of the shade you were struggling with is the name of the french city Auvers sur Oise where Van Gogh and a lot of other impressionist painters found the inspiration. French is such a difficult language, even for us french! I never expect people to pronounce it correctly and also, it is kind of cute hearing it with foreign accents. Coming back to the palette, looking at pictures it reminds me a lot of the dreamsign from Lethal,do they really compare?

I've visited the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam while on a class trip in artschool. And starry night and all his paintings are just mesmerizing and amazing. The latest storybook cosmetics collection really made me drool but I love this compact colorstory from musee beauty so much more!! And tbh. I should buy makeup for the product and not the packaging. Especially since I've seen Hailey and Kat review some SBC stuff and they were never too impressed with the quality. Which is just another point for musee beauty. I just wish I could get my hands on it in Germany 😭♥️✨

This look is sooooooo gorgeous, I can't get over it. I'm a huge Van Gogh fan from a young age so I'm really interested in this palette and I find it so cool and refreshing that Musee chose to make it more grungy and truer to the actual colours Van Gogh used rather than the oversaturated versions that pop up a lot in modern media depictions of his Starry Night paintings.

I can't wait to try them. It's going to be a few months, but I'm def going to grab this one. I have been a little obsessed with Van Gogh for yrs. I wasn't impressed with Storybook Cosmetics teaser color story at all, plus their packaging is too bulky. But a little voice in the back of my head kept saying "But it's Van Gogh. It's still cute." Thank goodness this came out and it's perfect.

I just ordered the BH Blueberry Muffin palette to add some blues to my collection. I was looking at singles on Sydney Grace, Terra Moons, Devinah....but couldn't find the exact shades I wanted & by the time I added up all the singles they would cost more than the palette on sale. Angie gave it a good review so fingers crossed. I love the whole art theme of Musee Beauty & their packaging/design art. They just haven't released a palette yet that has me wanting to make that first purchase.

I so relate to your struggle. I had two "mother languages" and I've done a good job of partly forgetting them because I'm in an English speaking country all the time. But then when I speak English you can hear from my accent and the way I twist certain words that I'm actually a foreigner lol

I finally got my Rephr brushes and I’m so glad I took your advice on brush sizes the 13 and 01 are my absolute favourites they fit in my eyeslike a dream can pack on the color but also blend it oh I’m so happy I got them, but ummm I had lots of explaining to do when my husband saw the bank statement for the Core collection and two extra 13 plus an extra cheek brush it was 337.89 CDA I have never in my entire life spent that much money on myself at once nvrm just on brushes but they made my heart so happy. I had to save for over a yr I could never ever just have that much money spent on something I don’t “ need” , that’s what saved me from divorce lol when he found out how long it took me to save for them. Why is it okay for men to spend thousands on their toys but when we or maybe just I do it , it turns into a major discussion on money ? I can not be the only one really I can’t lol.

I mentioned this in a comment to Betty Jean earlier about how I"m glad that Musée heard the cries of makeup lovers who've been waiting for the Storybook Cosmetics Starry Night palette since 2017 now have this to look forward to. Supposedly they're releasing the palette in December, but they've put it off for so long now, I'll believe it when I see it. Beautiful look by the way. Would love to see more, but don't stretch yourself thin

If it helps, your pronounciation was just fine! We say Van Gogh in that specific way since it’s difficult for us who aren’t Dutch to pronounce - when I heard it’s intentional pronunciation I was blown away, and when I tried to say it I struggled 😅 beautiful palette!!

the way people classify colors always fascinates me. the "warm toned yellow" in the palette i wouldn't even call a yellow anymore. i'd say it's more like a mango orange. but i think i remember reading color perception is related to language in some interesting ways so maybe thats whats going on

It looks similar to the "Dreamsign" palette from Lethal cosmetics. I really like this palette even though I have all of these colours in my collection, I can recreate it with my lethal single shadows alone. Is this shadow formula similar to lethal cosmetics formula or in case you have Viseart, Lunar Beauty, Sigma (I have the untammed only), Ace beaute, Huda, Beautybay, Bh Cosmetics the zodiac palette is pretty awesome.
