I love what you do my sister. Immigration officers are not supposed to be nice. They are not our friends but the gate keepers to protect our country. You have no idea what the officer has seen in her day. After the 100th Nigerian spinning a story about 'visiting' for sight seeing....that would test a lot of people. A lot of us think we are smarter than immigration officers and treat them like idiots who are supposed to fall for our cooked up stories. I live in the US and have heard all sorts of skeems and plans to fool Immigration. It's a tough job and they know they are shutting out people who do need the boost....we have to pray for Africa and Africans

It's respect. When in Rome do as the Romans do. Some countries (link the UAE) have specific areas where you literally cannot enter without matching their standards for women's clothing. As a solo traveller, why would I make my life harder when I can make it easier with clothing? It hurts me in no way to educate myself and match their requirements after all, I'm the visitor in their land.
