For a year and a half now, I’ve been using menstrual cups and they’ve made travel and life in general so much more convenient for me and I wish more people switched to menstrual cups because of how eco friendly, sustainable and comfortable they are! So in today’s video, I’m going to share everything I know about menstrual cups: what they are, why I switched to cups, how to use menstrual cups and what are the benefits of using menstrual cups. I also did a little Q&A about menstrual cups towards the end of the video.

I've switched from pads to cup very recently. I did this after contemplating for a very very long time. I've used cup only for one cycle but I'm not going back now. This small thing has made life so easy. Pads were so uncomfortable and messy. Thankfully now that I've tried it, I'll vouch for it.

I literally fed up of buying large ,extra large ,long lasting Pads. I convinced my wife to go for menstrual cup, I brought one from Amazon (Sirona brand )one year ago. Now she is feeling completely free in Periods and I am so relieved from pads while buying groceries.(Not to mention people looking at me carrying sanitary pads in my cart)

Question: when you say “wash the cup and reinsert” would you recommend washing it with normal water or with soap and water. I see quite a few menstrual cup washes in the market and wanted to check if that’s needed or not. Wouldn’t just rinsing it with normal water and reinserting have risk or introducing bacteria? Another question I had was - tampons make it clear to use them when you have a heavy flow to make the insertion a little more comfortable. Would that b applicable here as well? For end of cycle where the bleeding is quite minimal would you still recommend wearing the cup?

Thank you for making this video. It’s quite informative. Had a question - would you recommend using a steriliser machine for the cups compared to putting it in boiling water? If yes then which one? I think this would be helpful while traveling.

I personally think buying a sterilizer machine just for cup is wasteful. Boiling works just fine and while traveling you can either have an extra cup with you or carry a small water bottle to wash the cup.
