Firstly, what was the main programming language that you used during the course at Newcastle? Did you use Python for Data Science in the Wild and your Data Science group project? At Newcastle University, statistical modules and data management modules use R programming and for machine learning and deep learning... Python. For group project and data science in the wild... You can choose any programming language of your choice. Msc data intensive analysis at Uni of St. Andrews looks good to me... Lots of statistical analysis... Which is very important for any data analysis/data science roles...

Hi Roshan! So did you do your final sem project that is dissertation in association with some company? That is doing a ML project for a company adding some business value? Or did you do your projects under university professor?

I did my project for NICA which is a part of the University but they run their independent projects and their domain is ageing and longevity...

@@ProgrammingCradle Yeah I see you have mentioned this in your internship video but what I wanted to know here is whether NICA was fine with you to showcase the work you have done as part of internship for dissertation. Because you have privacy and many other reasons right. Also I see you mention about modifying architecture based on your needs. Can you please elaborate on that? For example even in your case you mentioned about modifying GAN architecture for tabular data? Are you mentioning that you are modifying last layers for categorical and numerical variables present in your dataset? Could you shed more light?? Thank you. This would definitely help me improve my Deep Learning coding ability.

If I work for 2 years here and study masters in the UK then what would be the job opportunities like? Will I be given an edge over freshers or be in the same league as of them while job application?

Without maths or coding look for really technical courses like IT Management roles or go for other fields such as IOT or software quality assurance.

Its hard for me to comment on whether learning a programming will be hard for you or not bcoz for some people it does not take much time but for some it can get little bit tough... But if you want to get into Data Science python or R will be required...

Brother I am a medical doctor. I wanna persue online health data science as I am busy with my job as a surgeon. Besides being a practitioner,I want to work as a data scientist ( remotely), but I am not sure it will be worth taking. Please suggest.

As you mentioned you are already tightly packed, taking an online course is only seems to be the right option if you absolutely want to get into data science... From a domain perspective you already must be having good knowledge... But i am assuming you might be new to programming so, it will take time and a good amount of effort to get up to speed... But it is totally possible. So, if you are prepared mentally to put in extra hrs... I think you can go for online courses... One thing I would suggest is before putting your money into any paid course, go through python programming tutorials on youtube and also learn data science concepts from open source (free) materials like youtube... And see how you like it and is it manageable...

Hello Hamzah, It does not matter which department or school the course comes in... Both the universities are good and in terms of jobs the UK definitely has more jobs as it is a bigger country... But the UK also has lots of visa implications/complications... I read an article a few days ago... Only 3% of the companies are utilizing a graduate visa...

Please tell me if taking this opportunity as a fresher is a good choice, and if yes could you Kindly tell me if there are any companies which sponsor visas for freshers as data scientists or AI engineers, as I will not be able to get a PSW visa since I will be here on a scholarship.

Congrats on getting the Commonwealth Scholarship. There are a lot of companies that provide sponsorship. It's hard to say whether they will provide sponsorship for fresher roles bcoz each company can only sponsor a certain number of roles and usually companies save that quota for senior level roles. Having said that, its not like it is impossible to find a sponsorship role for a fresher.

Python is used predominantly in the industry. So, it would be better if you can learn python programming beforehand. Some universities also teach the course in R programming. But if you learn one programming language properly, it wont take much time to pick-up another.

In my university, they provided a list of projects... There were more than 100 projects, set of projects under different professors... And most of the projects were real world research based... So, those projects will automatically add value to your profile... As for me... My dissertation was my internship project... I have a full video explaining about my internship... Dates vary from batch to batch... Assessments are mostly based on project work and presentations... For me at newcastle university there were no written exams...
