I have had the black Tetbury for some years now - brilliant and comfortable boot - also have its sister the Northcote full boot. I can recommend both.

You have to use shoecream, not wax to get the shoes back to par after using renomat. Otherwise use renovateur or neutral shoecream from saphire

One of the most versatile shoes I own. And one of few pairs that when they are beyond repairable, I’ll immediately buy another pair. I treat mine like proper kickers, they’ve seen mud, rain, snow and sand. My general impression is that they all crease quite significantly it’s a side effect of the nubuck combined with the long last, though the pattern of creasing here does make me feel you may be half a size too large on this shoe. I use saphir renovateur with perfectly fine results and my pair are 8 years old now!

Thanks for your comment! I must have missed it. You could well be right :) due to my wide toe area, any size smaller would too tight but, but probably not too short. And that’s great that you take your shoes through a beating now and then! That’s what shoes built for, after all :)

Thanks, Chris. As long as I don’t wear them every day, they should hopefully last for a good number of years.

I have two pairs of Tetbury's and both have done the crease thing. I think it's just what they do and to be honest it doesn't particularly bother me.

@@cooch555the white crease comes from the wax. Just avoid waxing on the folding parts just use shoe cream on top of the foundation ( renovateur)

Crockett and Jones and Trickers are the best a man can get in the price range. Own several pairs of both, the more you wear them the better they look

Eu gosto do vincos. Eles passam uma impressão de muito conforto e que a bota se moldou perfeitamente ao pé. Acredito também, que transmitem história e personalidade ao calçado. 👍🇧🇷

I was in the Crockett & Jones Jermyn Street shop! The old one on the end of Turnbull & Asser that is now shut. A man walked in with that same model in the video. His shoes were a total mess and he asked to have them refurbished and he bought another pair of the same model. When i asked the staff how it was possible to refurbish such a poorly kept shoe the assistant rolled his eyes and said he’d seen worse. For quite an unimpressive looking man his shoes looked a million dollars.

Thx for review. My right foot is larger due to my big toe which quite often will touch the front side and be painful at my mail so I look for pair with soft leather and wide models at level of the toe. Have you tried the Brogue shoes also from CJ?

A deer polishing bone might work well. I bought one from Kirby Allison's Hanger Project store. I haven't used it yet, just cause my Tetburys are still brand new. But it does say in the product description "for waxed calf shoes" in addition to it's primary function of caring for cordovan shoes.

I have it in Black Leather and I must say these are the most elegant and comfortable boots I've ever owned! I have also bought the shoe trees for it to keep it in shape... I have just one problem though! Those leather laces that came with it keeps on untying within minutes of tying! Its really annoying. Did u face this problem? I have only worn the boots just a handful times in the last 4 yrs of ownership....
@cooch555
@cooch555 Жыл бұрын
I haven’t had the problem with the laces. I do sometimes when I wear the Brecon model with one specific pair of jeans that seem to rub against the knot and undo it. I tried a double knot and find that that works for me.

Hello TheMac555, may I ask you, what product you are referring to as a Saphir product specially made for wax calf? Thanks
@cooch555
@cooch555 4 жыл бұрын
anton bach Hi Anton! Yes, you may :) unfortunately, I made a mistake and was referring to a product for oiled leather shoes, not waxed. The product is simply called ‘Oiled Leather’ by Saphir. Thanks for the comment and take care!

Hi Matthew, thank you! That’s great, I hope you’re enjoying them :) I haven’t had them resoled at all yet. The dainite sole is pretty robust. Also, I don’t wear them everyday. Usually about once a week and have been doing that regularly the past 5 years.

How did you find the sizing on the Tetbury's? I don't have any experience with their 348 last.
@cooch555
@cooch555 4 жыл бұрын
thePowerPlant the 348 last is quite narrow but due to the softer waxed calf leather on the Tetbury, it adjusts well to the foot and is comfortable.
@1061shrink1061
@1061shrink1061 4 жыл бұрын
I wear the same size in 348 as I wear in any other crockett last. It is size comparable with the 205 last from Cheaney. I’d suggest whatever your normal Uk size is in a premium shoe, will fit fine in the 348.

I like the 348 last i find it wider than C&J’s favoured 341 last which feels painfully narrow in the toe area in anything but suede or a G fitting.

Do you think the waxed calf skin is very hard to handle? Thank you, subscribed
@cooch555
@cooch555 4 жыл бұрын
Ilham Nandana it’s actually quite easy to handle and doesn’t need as much care due to the waxes in the leather. I ‘over cared’ for them which is why some of the natural waxes were taken out and the leather dried up somewhat after now 5 years of owning them. I’d say go easy on adding wax so you don’t need to use any hard wax removers such as the Saphir Renomat, as this product will dry out the waxed calf in my experience.

TheMac555 I see but I’m still concerned about the creasing. Is it due to sizing issue? Thanks
@cooch555
@cooch555 4 жыл бұрын
Ilham Nandana I wouldn’t say it’s a sizing issue as the fit is quite snug. They definitely crease more over time than the standard calf leather that C&J uses.
