Just purchased the shoe this weekend. Beautiful packaging and the leather they used for it is superb. The only thing is that Black is not my “color” so to speak. Therefore, a patina artist I know is going to turn them into a rich Dark Brown for me.

Great review as always David. Solution for you keep then boxed and buy the Alex model which Bond wore on Spectre. It is exactly the same shoe but without the London waist type sole with 007 on it. But what a presentation from C&J easily my favourite shoe company. Great review. Thanks as always.

Hello, very good presentation video, I also have a box which is magnificent but there is one thing that I would like to understand and that Crockett did not do, it is therefore a limited series but no box is numbered, we do not absolutely do not know how many boxes have been produced by size, I find that numbering the boxes would have given them more value

Please don’t wear them they are such a great collectors edition I received mine a few weeks ago and they are great instead buy the Alex shoe at half the price which is the same shoe and wear them.Regards Anthony (love your work)

Pretty sure in the Ian Fleming books he noted James Bond wore Oxfords which have a toe caps, but for Tux shoes totally understand whey they created these, they are are very nice and I own a pair of Crocket Jones with a chisel toe and they are great shoes!

Fleming wrote that Bond wore "moccasins" or "casual", which translates to loafers. Fleming's Bond never wore shoes with laces. In Fleming's day men would have worn plain-toe or cap-toe oxfords, pumps or slippers in patent leather for black tie.

A well executed collaboration. C&J do a sole refurb for 150GBP. But for 850GBP a one time refurb would have been nice as part of the package.

£850 isn't bad for a hand made shoe that's special edition, hand made and has lasted tree. maybe a spare set of leather soles could be provided given they're unique 007 emblazoned but OTT to expect a free refurb included with that price IMHO.

Very nice David...it is possible to place a 3M cover/film on the sole to add a level of protection.

They make that specifically for shoes and since this is a smooth leather sole, yes you can. You can also have a metal toe protector put on if you are going to wear them outside on concrete alot.

A good cobbler will be able to cut the sole above the 007 logo, and only resole the front section of the sole and the heal if necessary

Yes, these are made to be worn. Why keep them on a shelf and never wear. Oh, and you should re-lace them for fit, they presently are laced for "display." Enjoy them. You now share the same bootmaker with James Bond.

To me bond would of wore Churches, loake or Grenson. All this product placement stuff is a bit meh. Im sure they are well made but almost as bad as an omega seamaster with a 007 on the counterpoise second hand - cheesy! In fact would Roger Moore of worn these ? would Connery, no . There just relevent as they are fashionable. In ten years they will look dated or odd. The same way Moore's flares look dated but his classic Chesterfield in live and let die looks just that classical. If it's timeless it's timeless. As the 1016 explorer is , the Floris (which he never wore)
