For people watching this video now, there are many breakthroughs in Tinnitus research in the last year, there's some new technologies for trying to treat tinnitus, and the University of Oklahoma developed a pill that regenerates nerve cells in the cochlea to the brain stem, and on a test patient who had severe tinnitus for more than a decade, he was cured, the pill got through Phase 1 trial testing successfully, which means its safe for humans, and it's now on Phase 2 to measure the efficiency, and then Phase 3. It can be 3 to 5 years until it's out there for the public but I'm pretty sure we are very close to curing or greatly reducing tinnitus. Also, today one of the best ways to deal with tinnitus is sound therapy, finding the right frequency of your tinnitus and listening for 6--8 hours a day of a white noise or pink noise, or something like it, will reduce your tinnitus to sometimes zero in 6 months if done properly, your brain get to habituation a lot faster than if you didn't do it and just waited for it to happen naturally.

I have toned down the phone volumes and gearing up protection for ears while I am out and about for a while now and it seems manageable and not the worst condition to have. It's 3am right now and I'm borderline having a panick attack because of it. The absolute worse part about this is knowing that no matter how bad it gets or how bad it affects your life, it will never go away. I'd pay any price for a cure to this.

How long ago did it start for you? I’ve been in the exact same situation is you. The mind is powerful and can amplify it even more if you think about it more. There are many success stories out there and many people learn to live with it. I’ve found that I don’t even hear it as much anymore since I’m used to it, although I still have bad days every once in a while. Just try to stay as positive as positive and tell yourself you’ll be able to overcome this. It won’t come in 1-2 nights, but you may be able to see improvement in a short amount of time. Idk if you saw this yet, but perhaps it’ll help you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4KXlHelbpaLis0

Hey there❤️ I know a lot of people struggle with tinnitus right now but I just want you to know that it’s gonna get better please trust me. I have experienced tinnitus and I know what it feels like 😔So here is mine story.. I have tinnitus for about a year now and the noice isn’t super super loud but for me it had been really stressful. I’m 16 and I struggle with anxiety really often. So I think it was one of the most stressful experiences I ever had. I was feeling really really bad and depressed. I was crying at night desperately. Anything possible to avoid this horrible sound would be my hope to life. I always tend to avoid my problems, pretending that they don’t exist. But tinnitus is something that I couldn’t do it. So I knew I had to deal with it. And at first it was really really hard. It affects your sleep, your mood and you are begging for a cure that doesn’t exist. And deep in you you know that. There is no one that can help you except yourself. There is always a bright side to look. Think about it.. maybe tinnitus is here for a reason. To help you find what doesn’t make you happy in life. And maybe you never know someday it’s going to get away on it’s own. There is always hope even at the darkest places of life

Your story is almost the same as mine, im 33. It sounds even the same as the example in your video. My sister got it 15 years ago, she was really suffering in the beginning so I got scared. I love music festivals and clubs, so I took measures after hearing my sister got it from study stress. Got custom plugs and even convinced all my friends to take it as well. Always wear them to festival clubs, never without. Until I went to a festival during a holiday 6months ago and I lost my plugs at the beginning of the night, fell out of my pocket I guess, stayed unprotected. had a beep went away the next day. Then went the weekend after again to a festival again without earplugs, how stupid... had a beep again went away. Then came back from holiday, went to the ear protection shop and has new ones made. Took 10 days to make so I also took non-custom plugs to be protected in the meantime. Went the next weekend again to a party with the plugs in my ear before even entering the festival area. Then 2 days later I woke up with a beep I almost jumped out of my bed while waking up. Super scary, went into the negative thought washing machine :) , reading online 'horror' stories and reading everywhere online the is no cure for this, thinking if I could still concentrate good maybe losing my job.. litteraly 1 big panicshow. This made it even worse and almost started to faint at home from panic attacks. Found a doctor just across the border in Germany(I'm from The Netherlands) and did hearing tests. NO Hearing loss at all. I got a infuse treatment with prednisone which helped, not sure if it really was the treatment or just being able to tell my story to the ENT. It got back 6 weeks after I had that treatment during a car 3000mile car trip in 3 days, from road-noise, music, and fatigue. I have good and bad days at the moment now and I'm at the start of the acceptance phase. I also had an extremely busy year at work working 10 to 12 hours per day and even on weekends. So that could also have been contributing to it. Will indeed never know the real cause. Been trying to limit drinking alcohol as thats a trigger for T, quite sad because I love beers. the last 3 weeks in doing ok, its a 3/10 now. Have been watching a lot of positive videos who got rid of their T or can almost not hear it anymore. Julian Cowell Hill is great to watch. Hold on everyone it will get better in time. Cheers!!

Hi all ,I'm 57 yr old male and have had tinnitus since I was 28 and was managing well until about 3 weeks ago when I woke up and all the sudden it had spiked where I can hear it all day and to say its got me down and depressed is an understated, its herroundous ATM, the stress of moving house may have contributed to it ,not sure but I just prey it tones down just alittle bit once the stress goes, sleep is just so hard ATM ,love to have some feedback with similar situation god bless 🙏
@adamproceviat22853 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Stress can definitely be a factor. I’m in the middle of moving from USA to Canada and it’s caused me a little stress too. The tinnitus is a little worse than usual. I feel like it all comes back to sleep. Once you get 1-2 nights in a row of good sleep, you can build from there. I bought one of those eye masks for sleeping and it relaxes me and I fall asleep quicker. Also, play some background noise to drown out the ringing. Rain sounds or ocean sounds work well!

My onset started near the end of October 2020 and has been very difficult for me to deal with. Being a somewhat anxious person, anxiety and depression hit hard and fast. Thoughts of suicide ran rampant throughout December and still dance around the perimeter of my mind. Now I'm slowly coming around to the reality of my condition and watching videos like this and talking with people really helps. Staying asleep is more my issue. Insomnia can be overwhelming. Thanks for the pep talk 😁

Fellow tinnitus sufferer here (both ears 24/7 sounds like a dentist drilling my skull ) barely able to mask it it's that loud... For about 6 months I was genuinly contemplating suicide BUT for anyone who feels that way.. All I can say is, it gets better... Sounds silly but yeah.. I hate it, I miss the silence but it becomes the new norm and eventually you find more reasons to enjoy life than hate it I actually found its made me live a little more as I seriously have no idea what is around the corner (my tinnitus came out of nowhere, it isn't sound induced but doctors just tell me to deal with it - I assume it's muscular or skeletal) just felt like venting /commenting because hopefully some people here can relate

Adam I have a few questions. If you take the time to answer it'll be most appreciated: 1. How long did it take for you to get used to having tinnitus? To the point where it just really didn't bother you anymore. 2. Do you weight train at all? If so, have you noticed if lifting weights effects your tinnitus at all? 3. What do you eat mostly? Do you eat carbs or sugar at all? And, do you have the occasional cheat days as in sweets, pizza, fast food etc? 4. Does the ringing in your ears fluctuate a lot? Like will you have some days you'll barely hear it and others where it gets kinda loud?
@adamproceviat22853 жыл бұрын
1. For me it took a couple months. Hardest part was the fact no one else understands how annoying it is. 2. Yup I train 5x per week or so. I've been doing home workouts since 2020 with a combination of outdoor cardio. So way less super heavy weights. Although it has not been officially proven, some suspect that tension in the neck and back can make tinnitus worse. So for some that don't stretch enough after lifting heavy, it could potentially make it louder. 3. I try to eat as healthy as possible, but I also do indulge on cheat meals/days. Not too much fast food, but instead just rich, tasty food as a treat. I just try to eat a TON of vegetables daily. When living alone, I was not having too much sugar or carbs, but I'm in Canada right now and theres just more of the bad stuff around the house. We're in lockdown still too, so I'm at home more than usual. 4. Yup it kind of fluctuates. If I'm more stressed, I may hear it more. One thing that hurts my ears is wind. Lately it has been pretty good though. I just try to keep busy and focus on my interests and goals. Not sure if you saw this yet, but I made another video about how I live with Tinnitus (with a focus on sleep) kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4KXlHelbpaLis0 Let me know if you have any more questions! Adam

Thanks for this video Adam. I am going towards 70 and I have played/listened to music for the past 60 years. Lately, I have developed Tinnitus, most probably from being exposed to a high rate of DB coming out of my speakers, even if the wattage was quite small and I did not have the impression of playing loud. As you mentioned, the ringing is steady for more than 2 months and I accepted the fact it won't go away. Most of the time, it is a bearable level and I have learned to live with it. What bothers me most is that if I plug my guitar and play, even at a very low level, down 25 DB from what I used to play, then I have spikes and they stay for the whole day. I have tried several times, putting my ears at rest between two tests: no matter what, the spikes come back whenever I play electric... It's quite cruel, as playing my guitars, tweaking the tone on the amp and pedals used to be my daily pleasure and now, I have to accept the idea that I won't be playing amplified music again. I've tried to play with ear protection, but it doesn't work as I almost can't hear anything unless I turn the volume to a level that is disturbing for others. So, here I am, playing my electric guitars unplugged, which is not the end of the world as I can still enjoy playing and not lose my skills by practising everyday, but I can't avoid to think: what good is practising if I can't play through an amp anymore ? I thought of selling all my equipment and keep just the guitars I can't really part with, but I still can't cross the line, for the moment anyway. I know there are much tougher conditions, heavy pathologies, war and what have you, but I did not reach the point where I can easily give up on what was an important part of my life and convince myself that Tinnitus, willing or not, will be my constant partner for the rest of my life.... Cheers Adam, keep well !

Going through a really big spike in the last few months, super annoying! My suggestion to everyone would be to also verify the loudness of the places you are in (like concerts etc..), hearing protection is great but it actually might not be enough, like in my case. There are apps you can download that will tell you what the noise level currently is, it's useful to keep track of this and stay away from places that are in the 100+db zones, even with hearing protection! Adam, is there any way we could connect? I'd love to have a quick chat! Thanks

Got the Pfizer vaccine earlier this month, went to the Texas State Fair and heard a loud noise coming from a speaker. Later on that evening there was a pop and a woosh and then the inevitable ring. Didn't think much of it and it went away. Few nights later it happened again, I started freaking out beyond belief. Let it go and went on vacation and the whole time I was there it didn't happen once. I get back and start listening for it fearing it would come back and it did. Went to the doctor yesterday to have my ears cleaned, wasn't happening at all and then just last night it game back when I was about to sleep. It's a ringing like the one you put in the video and it alternates from left to right ear. Am new to this but am hoping it was exposure to that loud noise at the fair and will fade with time.
@adamproceviat22852 жыл бұрын
I got the Pfizer too. I was worried at first but it didn't make mine any worse. I'm not a medical professional, but it sounds like a good sign that it comes and goes. Take care of your ears going forward and hopefully it goes away. Sounds like being on vacation may have helped you ignore it! Maybe you were relaxed or maybe you were too busy to notice. I find that when I keep busy, I really don't have any time to think about it. If you have trouble sleeping, play some sort of white noise or use a fan to make a noise to drown out the ringing. Usually I play this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnalnWyQhr2fpac

@@adamproceviat2285 thank you so much for responding. I've also found that Claritin helps have been taking it every 24 hours since it began and has helped tremendously. Am hoping this is something that has to do with my sinuses and will go away. Am starting to adjust. Last night I played some pink noise videos and stuff while sleeping and it helped a lot. The other day at work I guess I heard a loud noise and it felt as though my ear was stuffed with cotton and the ringing was loud almost pulsating but went away after a few hours to a low buzz about 1/10. Have been having some bad thoughts, but am starting to adjust I suppose. Less worry and anxiety definitely helps and I have high anxiety as it is, but I suppose this buzz is starting to become the norm.

I've had this for about three weeks now. I was listening to music with earbuds too loud I guess. It's just in my left ear. Honestly it's all I've been thinking about and I've been really depressed because of it thinking I'm going to have this the rest of my life. I've been listening to masking noises which really helps. One thing I have learned is how much I took things for granted before. Do you have it in both ears or just one? And do you think I'll get it in both ears eventually. Also, I find the more I think about it that is when I hear it. Sometimes I don't even know if I have it or maybe it's just that I wasn't thinking about it. Sorry to ramble.
@adamproceviat22854 жыл бұрын
There’s chance it will just go away on its own. I’ve had it for a longer period (3+ weeks) before and it’s gone away. It does get better and you will get used to it. I was depressed before too and I can tell you that you will get out of the funk. I am happier than I have ever been. I have it in both ears. It feels pretty much equal on both sides. I’m optimistic that you’re more likely to lose it in the one ear before you develop it in both. Yeah I feel the same too. I feel like I hear it or it’s just louder than it actually is. If you search more on KZbin, you’ll see that there are some random techniques that make it go away. I used to use them but I’ve become so used to it now that I don’t even use them anymore. Thanks for sharing your story

@@adamproceviat2285 no it hasn’t gotten any better, in the beginning I had hope that one day I will wake up and it will be gone but as time went by I am accepting it as part of life’s Journey. Sometimes it gets so bad that little daily tasks becomes annoying. I have tried everything from chiropractor to ENT and even dentist but to no avail. The only thing I can do now is to hope a cure is on the way because living with tinnitus is like living like a zombie 🧟♂️. The little things that brings joy and happiness is ruined by some phantom sound that today’s scientists 👨🏻🔬 can’t figure. I hope 🤞 soon tinnitus will get some funding and be treated as a serious condition rather than a simple hearing loss. Only if there were famous tinnitus advocates in politics or among some billionaires like Elon or Jeff Bezos so they could fund some private companies to find a cure. Ok enough with my rant lol 😂. Hope who ever is reading this knows that we all are in this together and I wish we all get our normal hearing back and enjoy life to the fullest.

I feel like since that so many people actually have it, it would actually be a profitable product for big pharma companies to develop. Do white noise apps work for you a bit? I typically use them to drown out the sound. Also, depends where you live I heard cbd/thc can help. Just depends if that’s legal or if tou believe in using that type of thing. Yeah someone rich and powerful needs to get it! I think that others will read this and not feel so alone! Thanks for keeping the conversation going! People will appreciate reading it

@@adamproceviat2285 I went today and purchased the Sony noise canceling headphones 🎧. Downloaded few apps mixing different white noise and nature’s sound. It helps while I am busy with regular tasks but as soon as I start mental tasks my brain 🧠 creates a resistance to the white noise and takes away my focus. I think I just have to retrain my brain. Then how can a person stay focused if the brain itself creates phantom noise lol. I guess it’s a battle within. I will use the white noise for 1 hour every day as it was suggested and will keep you updated on my progress. Thanks for making the video. Sometimes it’s good to see others share their experiences and their progress with tinnitus.

This was an incredibly amazing share bro. Thank you for opening up! I have a mild fotm as well, because I played guitar growing up, and rode motorcycles for 5 years with and without protection (helmet alone is not enough ear protection). I totally feel you on this, mine is like volume level 3/10, where I would categorize yours as closer to 8 or 9, thinking of exactly the post-concert ring. Great job man, the fluency of this video was impressive, and your camera presence is top notch! Keep it up brother, loving the b roll integration!

Hello, there is another way you can be healed from tinnitus. I suffered with this problem and in faith I suffer no more. The bible says "Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security." ~ Jeremiah 33:6 If you want to be healed, connect with God he is a healer without medication, surgery etc. If you want to have a chat about it and know more my email is godsmessengerr7@gmail.com

Very informative and well explained video! I've been dealing with tinnitus since October now, I'm just 18 years old and it's incredibly annoying to live with. I'm still going through the process of "accepting it" because I'm still experiencing anxiety, stress and depressive thoughts/feelings from it. I still don't know how i really developed this but it's like a noise with "clock ticking" sounds if that makes sense. Luckily during the day it gets masked easily and i can still concentrate but when i need to sleep/want some silence it gets really difficult. I think i developed it because of stress and anxiety but also my earbuds could be the problem. I don't go to concerts or loud places so it's unfortunate :( I also still don't exactly know if it's really tinnitus or me just focusing too much on the typical noise my ear makes? Besides that I'm also really scared that it will eventually get worse. Maybe a miracle will happen some day and will dissappear
@naynay77743 жыл бұрын
Hey, I completely understand what it feels like. I have the clicking sounds too, although I keep trying to convince myself that it’s just random noises in my ear and not tinnitus. I’ve had it for a long time now and it’s become more noticeable, especially the high pitch ringing in both years. I’ll pray that your acceptance journey goes well. I’m still on mine and I’m proud to say that it’s working, a few minutes ago the high pitch noise in my right year got louder and I didn’t get a panic attack instead I calmed myself down and distracted myself with positive thoughts. The anxiety is the worst but we’ll make it through!
@unzii3 жыл бұрын
@@naynay7774 same here, I've been telling myself that's it's just "normal sounds" that my ears make. I still panic when it gets worse sadly :( and the anxiety is still very much present. I don't really fear the sound anymore but i fear that it's going to get worse or in both ears, like i constantly try "to take care" of my ears but at the end of the day i can't control what happens. I just hope it will stay like this so i can start accepting but am scared all the time, wishing us both a lot of luck 😔❤️

If it is caused by stress and anxiety, I see that as a positive because it means you can control that and it will get better. It’s completely normal to feel stressed and depressed when you first develop this. I’ll tell you that with time you will get more used to it and it will get better. I made another video about getting a better sleep with tinnitus. I think if you manage to improve your sleep quality, your entire life gets better with it. You’ll get through this! Stay positive! I'm 23 and I just got mine a few nights ago... I called a ENT to make an appointment. She told me to come in next week Tuesday. Is it even worth it since everyone saying it's a forever thing😟 I've been crying all day.. praying and crying... Idk. I like your video it helped a little. I have canceling headphones. My tv volume was always at 14 in my bed room now it's down to 5. Should I sleep with my headphones? No... Idk. I'm trying

It is definitely worth it. Talking to a medical professional will help answer some of your questions. I think sleeping with headphones is fine. Have you ever tried playing a sound effect in the background to help you fall asleep? Something like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3-co5VohqmkqNk

Here’s some info which may help anyone new to T: Tinnitus Explanation and Links From what I’ve researched on the internet through articles, videos and comments I have discovered that tinnitus or ringing in the ears can be the result of noise, head, physical and/or emotional trauma, high blood pressure, dental problems like bruxism (teeth grinding) or TMJ (jaw clenching) at night while sleeping, excessive ear wax or ear infection or other ear related issues, stress and anxiety, certain medications, Epstein Barr or other viruses, EMF’s from WIFi/5G or upper cervical subluxated Atlas and Axis (C1 and C2) neck related issues and even chemicals from hair dyes, personal care products and cosmetics, certain allergies to foods, Salicylates, oxalates, lectins (otherwise known as Plant Paradox), bad diet or nutritional and/or vitamin and mineral deficiencies like vitamin C, zinc, iron, iodine, magnesium, D3 and K, and even parasites. Some people also believe it’s part of the ascension process into a higher frequency and that it’s the sound of angels, higher beings, the cosmos or God communicating with them through their hearing. The standard explanation is that the brain is basically in fight or flight mode and you’re hearing your own nervous system on red alert. It can fix itself over time by using a process called habituation which is accepting it and getting used to the sound and/or neuroplasticity which is fundamentally rewiring the brain and creating new neural pathways by training it not to hear the sound which makes it recede into the background and eventually disappears because the brain sees that it is no longer a threat and as unimportant. This is achieved through the repetition of positive mental affirmations, visualization and relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, yoga, Qi gong and/or exercise and/or neck release exercises called trigger point therapy, upper cervical chiropractic adjustments and/or regular chiropractic, certain dental procedures which involve the use of mouth guards and jaw releasing, relaxation and massage exercises, cranial sacral therapy, EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique also known as ‘tapping’, hypnotherapy, visualization, and other body and mind relaxation therapies and/or masking with nature sounds or pink noise in TRT (Tinnitus Retraining Therapy). What can also help is reducing/removing some or all coffee, teas, sodas, alcohol, salt, sugar, spices, condiments, dairy, carbs, nuts, seeds, the night shade family of veggies, salicylates and oxylates from the diet and intermittent, 24 or 48 hour wet or dry fasting. Some people see results whether they’re vegan, vegetarian or meat eaters and even some do none of the above and still get better over time. Still, the majority of what I’ve read and seen in videos is that a healthy diet, stress reducing exercises and ignoring the sound so the brain can retrain itself not to hear it have the most impact on reducing and healing T. A comment from Elann Suvat on one of Julian Cowan Hill’s videos: “As others have said do not go on Tinnitus Talk. In fact do not google anything. Tinnitus is a symptom of a neurological condition that can be resolved. Learn to rewire your brain through helpful videos such as this one. Reduce stress and disrupt chronic stress, get down to the root of your anxiety and depression, rewire your brain not to be sensitive or hypersensitive to environmental noise and life around you.” “It can be done. It can be reversed. One key thing about tinnitus is not to have anger, hate, stress, fixation on it. It will only make it worse and allow it to stay. Do not give your tinnitus power. Embrace it. Think of your tinnitus as a bodily noise that’s telling you your body is alive and busy healing. It’s telling you something important. Find the root cause. Is it neurological, physiological or both? Do away with negativity and toxic relationships. Diet and lifestyle are extremely important. Sleep, reduction of stress, EXERCISE, having positive social relationships, working toward a move of happiness and relaxation every day. Be kind, compassionate, patient and authentic to yourself. This is crucial. Be courageous.” Check out Julian Cowan Hill, Liam Stops Tinnitus, James Karthaus, Peter Studenik and Joey Remenyi and many others in the video compilation list below. They all healed from tinnitus using their own (and sometimes combined) techniques. Here’s a list of videos with success stories and links for various healing techniques: kzbin.info/aero/PLxLNqBGWBhLxphlCH3dC1j3iPcs8hWRme www.quora.com/I-have-tinnitus-Is-it-possible-to-train-my-brain-with-the-concept-of-neuroplasticity-to-interpret-the-sound-of-tinnitus-as-a-positive-message-rather-than-annoyance-for-example-a-reminder-to-always-chase-my-dreams www.pkdiet.com/pdf/oxalate%20lists.pdf Here are things one can do to help T written by Mike Olaski from a comment on one of Julian Cowan Hills video’s. (I‘ve added a few of my own ideas as well.): 1. Body Work -Massage -Yoga -Tai Chi -Cranial Sacral -Reflexology -Love Making -Stretching -Yawning 2. Get Grounded in Your Body -Get on the floor -Walk barefoot in nature -Hug a tree -Hug your pets, your loved ones -Use a grounding mat -Hold or play with crystals or stones -Do gardening or outside chores -Breathe in fresh air -Get at least 15 mins of sunshine every day 3. Avoid negative people and situations 4. Ease off / avoid stimulants -Caffein -Teas (even herbal) -Sugar -Chocolate -Salt - Drink filtered water 5. Meditate - Sitting or walking meditation 6. Deep Breathing 7. Let Negative Thoughts Pass 8. Mindfulness 9. Self Massage -Face, Head, Neck 10. Lighten Up - Yawning, Laughing, Singing, Humming, Whistling 11. Baths / Showers - Steam 12. Turning on / off Hot / Cold Showers 13. Slow Walking 14. Fasting - Intermittent - late lunch or dinner - One day a week or every two weeks water or dry fast - 3 day water fast 15. Protect Auditory Environment - Keep earphone / headphone volume low - Avoid loud environments, places or gatherings - Wear earplugs 16. Have fun, normalize life, don’t sweat the small stuff, reduce stress 17. Ride out spikes by doing all of the above knowing this too shall pass and you are already healed. @@musharraf2771 it could make you think about it more. Just keep in mind that before watching the videos, you didn’t hear it as much, so it means that if you focus, you can stop hearing it as much. Don't worry, it will get better. At first, I had trouble at work because I was trapped in my own head thinking about how I hear this ringing and how I'll never be able to be productive again. But I managed to overcome it. It's all about going through the stages. One day you'll realize you hear it less and you'll feel very positive about it. It may be quieter temporarily before getting loud again, but just by the fact that it happens will give you hope. Just try to keep focused on other things. Enjoy the summer!
