I wonder if the FINNS invented preheated secondary combustion air( to burn wood gas).An older Finn (Siltala) in Northern Ont,Canada coached me on building a large wood stove 30 years ago and showed me to put a hot air pipe at the top in addition to the main door drafts. Much more heat and very clean chimney. The French called it his SNEAKY VENT. Now I see your wonderful stove with that same principle . GREAT JOB!

Don't know if Finns invented the use of secondart air.. but its really common in stoves and fireplaces here... 🤔 Thank you for your comment. I have been planning another version from this long time, just have been too busy. 😐

Nice refinements to the design to get it dialed in. Should last a good long time with the heavy gauge material. Excellent Tuomas!

Very nice, I was going to make one from concrete last year, but yours looks very good all tig welded up. I might give it a try with black steel tubing and mig welder. I like how you got the flames centered, great job

Opa's Workshop Thank you very much my friend. I hope it lasts.. But i know. Heat makes bad for the stainless too, not fast, but after some years i propably needs to fix the fire chamber.. i guess. But, i can store it outside without rust, that's a good thing.

@ hey great build, i havnt looked at stoves in a while and seen urs for first time only now unfotunately, are u still developing them or? I wonder if ud put some smaller holes on the inner burn chamber down where the burn takes place so as to draw gas from the primary burn up throught the vents to mix with the secondary heated air, im almost certain the burn would be smoke free, and much cleaner flame! Hopefully i will try to replicate ur stove, ill b sure to show u the results if i make any developments!

Have you considered adding a warning to this video because of the flashing lights? Maybe put a filter over the camera lens when filming the torch? Great design and build. Thanks.

Tuomas Soikkeli En varmaan ymmärtänyt puolestakaan noista tuliteorioista :)
7 жыл бұрын
JWAM Joo. Olen huono selittämään. Kiinnitin linkin ekaksi kommentiksi. Katotko selventääkö se yhtään? Mulla katosi sanat täysin editoidessa, ja iski kyllästyminenkin.
@JWAM
@JWAM 7 жыл бұрын
:) Ainoa selventäminen siinä linkissä on "between the two sides" (minkä sivujen välissä?), + se pitää olla "divides [...] into" (the falling tree divided the cottage in half) eikä "shares" (the cottage is shared by my family as well as my in-laws). Useimmiten se on ihan sama miten kirjoittaa, tässä vaan tuntui että piti miettiä pari sekuntia, ja sitten taisin suomentaa tekstin kun hoksasin että "jakaa" toimii vähän erillä lailla suomessa :)
7 жыл бұрын
JWAM Ahaa.. Juu, tuo onkin ongelma, puutteellinen englanti. 😊

I always enjoy your videos, but this one needed narration. The captions were not enough. You, standing next to a large, cut-away drawing saying, "This is what I want to do, and this is how I intend to do it."
7 жыл бұрын
Paul Murphy Yep. I noticed that too. I didn't find words to explain.. This video shows the reason why i don't make videos for all my doings. Because i don't draw plans, just have an idea.. sometimes it goes like this.. making, testing, fixing... etc. But, this one was just to test the idea. Actual ones are round and little different. I think i could make a better video then. Thank you for the feedback, it helps a lot! I have an asberger syndrome, i think little different way than most, i have been told. That makes sharing my toughts little bit difficult sometimes. But, i try to improve it. 😊
@cobberpete1
@cobberpete1 7 жыл бұрын
Forgive me Tuomas, if this is not the case. I don't know where the majority of your audience comes from, but if we say 'English speaking'. then do you speak English fluently enough to narrate over the video. In the post editing, it is easy to translate Finnish into English Sub titles That might be the reason Paul.
