Has anyone heard of or noticed a CO hiring crisis/shortage in their state? In my state, between the COs' union becoming toothless and losing them the reason$ why they worked such a job, and prisoners using the law library to just file any and every grievance and suit they could think of, at any and every guard, most of them quit. They lowered standards to try to mass hire new guards but none last now for the same reasons. Thus it's the first time in my life I've witnessed the state putting efforts into not locking people up. I was hoping it was happening in some other states

Joe's point that the vast majority of hip hop glorifies prison, is simply stating a well known fact. Somewhere along the way, being incarcerated, particularly in prison, became a status symbol and to some, a right of passage. That is along side glorifying drug trafficking, Human trafficking, extortion, murder, domestic violence, drug use etc... it's not a secret that hiphop lyrics tend to glorify these things under the guise of "telling MY story". As is also well known, many of these lyrics are either exaggerations or complete fabrications to which the youth attempts to emulate. This is the equivalent of convincing myself that I can fly because I saw the fictional superman movie.
