My top 10 drivers of 2024 1st Verstappen 2nd Leclerc 3rd Sainz 4th Hulkenberg 5th Alonso 6th Russell 7th Norris 8th Tsunoda 9th Gasly 10th Piastri

I agree with most of those driver rankings. Sainz is underrated in my opinion. 80% of drivers alongside wouldn’t have ran Leclerc, who’s clearly the 2nd best driver on the grid, that close. Sainz is very consistent, very quick and doesn’t make many errors at all. Gasly hasn’t stood out to me as much as Tsunoda and Hulkenberg have until the final five races. Tsunoda and Hulkenberg have both shone out more across the season. Not to mention, you did rank Gasly 15th in your mid-season driver rankings. I feel like recency biased has influenced your ranking of Gasly, if I’m honest.

Unfortunately you are another you tube pundit that hasnt rated drivers on what they did but on what you hoped they would do which is win the WDC. Lando Norris came into this season without a win because the car wasnt competitive enough and Max had seven wins in the first 10 races and you expect Lando to overhaul him. I am a Lando fan but I am a realist. It was a long shot at best. especially when the team prioritized the constructors. Lando hadnt won a single race and the Mclaren was not competitive until Miami. In many races that followed the car was very competitive but not all. What did he do ? He won four races and was on pole eight times breaking Lewis Hamilton record at Mclaren which had stood for 24 years. Lando made a few mistakes , all the drivers did including Max. The team made more mistakes than Lando. His drive at Abu Dhabi was brilliant under immense pressure. Sky rated Lando as 2nd best and The Race as 3rd best but non of the professional pundits rated him lower than third for the year. The ranking to me should be Max, Lando Charles, George Hulkenburg Oscar Gasly Lewis Alonso and Tsunoda. Oh and the great drive by Oscar in Baku holding off Charles , a defensive master class, should have been a 20 sec victory as Lando had gone from 16th to 4th in the same race.
